The ordinance is clear and precise, leaving no room for unjustified arguments, Chu Kar-kin, a veteran commentator based in the HKSAR and member of the Chinese Association of Hong Kong and Macao Studies, told the Global Times on Wednesday. The allegations from the West are groundless and subjective, as their laws are never superior or binding to other jurisdictions, he said.

In fact, the Article 23 legislation has taken at least six countries’ national security-related laws as references during the legislative process including 16 laws from the UK like the National Security Act 2023.

The definitions of crimes within the ordinance are clearer than those in the UK’s National Security Act 2023, Tang, the city’s Secretary for Security, noted on Wednesday. Cameron ignoring the vagueness of his own country’s legislation while making unreasonable criticisms of the Article 23 legislation displays hypocritical double standards, Tang said.

The most important lesson, taught by the present reality in which the noble spirit and purpose of the World Declaration of Human Rights have not been realized yet, is that genuine human rights can be guaranteed and realized only when the sovereignty is thoroughly defended.

Human rights, not guaranteed by the sovereignty of a state, are nothing but a castle on the sand, and if the national power is weak and the sovereignty is not defended, it is impossible to guarantee elementary rights to life and existence, to say nothing of individuals’ dignity and rights to development.

The most serious challenge threatening the existence and development of mankind at present is the unethical crimes of the U.S. and its followers that unhesitatingly invade sovereign states and massacre innocent inhabitants in order to maintain their hegemony and realize their interests.

How the West Manipulates – and Chinese Philosophy Contributes to – Human Rights Methodology! (5.12.2023)

Fu Zitang, head of Southwest University of Political Science and Law’s Human Rights Institute, said that China proposing the Global Security Initiative, the Global Development Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative stands as a constructive solution to address human rights deficits and enhance global human rights governance.

Fu said that China promotes human rights through development, safeguards them through security and advances human rights through cooperation, which contributes to global peace and security.

Liu Huawen, executive director of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences’ Institute of Human Rights, said the declaration is universal, applying to all nations regardless of size, strength or wealth.

It is powerful not due to material resources or substantial enforcement, but because of its representation of the common ideals and goals of all humanity, “giving it enduring vitality, extensive influence and timeless inspiration”, Liu said.

Russia: Capitalist Baby-Steps Toward ‘Bourgeois’ Freedom of Thought! (6.12.2022)

My view is that if an individual is ‘forced’ to accept an imposed point of view decreed by a government – then a country is ‘fascist’! This is exactly what developed capitalist countries do to their ordinary citizens! The US, UK and EU are prime examples, whilst many former Eastern European members of the USSR are now pursuing Neo-Nazi political pathways – all disguised as ‘Democracy’ and supported by the US! Modern Russia feels that it must ‘relate’ to its Soviet past (I can see this changing overtime) and so although inundated with fascistic modes of totalitarian thought itself (as can be seen through the illiberal attitudes as expressed by ‘Anton Korobkov-Zemlyansky’ and his student friend ‘Stepan Antropov’) – rejects ‘Hitler’ due to the mass-murder and destruction his regime inflicted upon the USSR (which included Russia)!  

The lunacy (and anti-intellectualism) of modern Russia includes the bizarre conspiracy theory that the US is supporting Neo-Nazism in the Ukraine as a means to import homosexuality into Slavic lands (rather than simply projecting ‘hegemony’) and attempting to ‘corrupt’ the idea of Russian Manhood as defined through the fascist ideology of ‘Pan-Slavism’! So, there is nothing ‘suspicious’ about an older (male) lecturer coming to the rescue of a younger (male) student – with a large ‘Z’ painted on his chest…?
