Amazing! I proudly congratulate our para-athlete Clara Fuentes for winning the gold medal at the World Parapowerlifting Championship held in Cairo, Egypt. With a lift of 121 kilograms in the 50 kg category, Clara claimed first place and reaffirmed her position among the greats of world sport.
At his peak, however, he was a very good all-rounder wielding the bat and ball. When a child, my father taught me all the rules of cricket and this is why I know a) how to play the game, and b) what is going on when watching it (we support Leicestershire County Cricket Club – and we watched them play once). I have tried to teach my partner and children – but the modern youth now have the internet to take their attention! I have played “in-door” cricket – as well as cricket on a proper pitch – and I never wore a helmet (I couldn’t afford one). When standing at the crease – the mind must be calm and expansive – clear and reflective. Peace and self-control must permeate reality – whilst the bat and ball must be properly utilised in a technically perfect manner. There is no hatred for the opposition – or unnecessary attachment to one’s team-mates – all are equal to the true gentleman. This is why I refer to cricket as a form of English Confucianism!

Well, today, I received a news update in my inbox about Leicester City playing Italian team Fiorentina (which Leicester won 2:0) through an organisation called “Fan Sided” – which featured the Leicester game (remember, Leicester is a Muslim area which supports Palestine) – and after reading the article I signed-up for further Leicester City news. In Japan, a Buddhist monk or nun can get married, produce children, eat meat, and drink alcohol. In other words, these people are lay-people in robes – but are practicing dishonesty. A group of Chinese Ch’an monks had been following the Vinaya Discipline when they travelled to Japan to spread the Ch’an Dharma – but returned with Japanese wives and children – and wearing lay-clothing – eating meat and drinking alcohol. In front of Xu Yun – these “monks” petitioned the post-1949 government of China to permanently abolish the Ch’an requirement for monks and nuns to be celibate and vegetarian. Xu Yun is said to have loudly slapped the table – stating that the Chinese government should do the exact opposite – that is, integrate the Vinaya Discipline into the fabric of China’s secular law. If a man or woman wants to be an ordained Buddhist monk or nun, then it should be a legal requirement – punishable by secular law – if they fail to uphold the rules and regulations of the lifestyle they have chosen to follow. Being a Buddhist monastic is a “job” that requires a strict form of lifestyle.
In 1941, the Sikh Police Officers who served the British Authorities in Hong Kong turned on their employers and assisted the imperial Japanese to commit all kinds of atrocities against the British and ethnic Chinese locals. The Sikhs were then “expelled” as a distinct ethnic group from all British Armed Forces for the duration of WWII. Yes – the Sikhs took the side of fascism during WWII – whilst rejecting any form of secular Socialism. Later, individual Sikhs who had settled in England were allowed to join the British Military – but never again were groups of Sikhs allowed to form ethnic-specific military units.
