This is not an exaggerated racist trope – and we had to stop watching (consuming) this show as a protest. Cuban sportspeople – often dominant Boxers – are portrayed as drug-riddled lunatics who win not because Socialism generates a superior person – but because their system is deficient and insane. If it was not for the fact I found this on Chinese-language media – I would think this was a fake (anti-China) article emanating from the West. However, the fact that a “settlement” has already been reached suggests the story is true and I assume the woman concerned has received a financial sum as compensation. The CPC used to have a liberal attitude toward smoking – creating a completely independent tobacco industry designed to “purify” the smoking experience and remove all the negative health effects from it – a very different approach to the abstaining and disapproving West. It seems that as the older generation dies-away – the Chinese State is directing Chinese society away from any public displays of smoking. It would seem that the woman in question (the “victim”) was attempting to enforce the law at the Bus Station – but was “arrested” alongside the man allegedly breaking the law. The fact the CPC has allowed this story to be perpetuated into the foreign media suggests a damage limitation exercise is in effect.
The way it works in the US is that the police are tasked with raising local government revenue. Much of this is through traffic violation. The police stop black people often on spurious and flimsy grounds knowing that they will resist. The resisting then becomes the reason for the detention and arrest. Notice that the original reason for the stop is then quietly dropped and forgotten about – as it would not stand up in court. Even if it did – the petty nature of it would only result in a modest fine. Resisting arrest, fighting with officers, and threats – attract not only hefty fines – but quite often prison sentences and criminal records. Complying would seem the logical choice as it involves the least overall risk – but we do not live in an ideal world. For a White American – this can be a pleasant encounter between community equals – but for non-Whites it is often the beginning of a nightmare and even result in the death of the civilian. Qualified immunity often means the offending officers receive little or no punishment.
My father – Peter Wyles (Moses Waveman) – is currently in a pickle, but it is happening to millions of elderly across the UK as the incumbent Labour Party is busy privatising the NHS and the Elderly Care System. NHS staff and Social Services (SS) staff all collude with this deficient treatment so that it becomes “legal” to provide inadequate and abusive care to the nation’s elderly. Labour also orders the police to telephone (and intimidate) any family member who complains online about the terrible treatment that is happening to their elderly relatives. I know this because it has happened to some one I know. What a disgrace the UK has become. The NHS and SS workers should be on the side of the working class that pays their wages through collective taxation. Still, no matter what happens – we will fight to the end!
I bet Sgt Brian McGuinness (a name of Irish descent) thought that when he joined-up he was defending the very “freedom of speech” he was so brutally deprived yesterday by a thuggish-Senator (yet another Vet) and members of the Capitol (Americans cannot spell) police force. Let’s recap this police force – shall we? When Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol on January 6th, 2021 (motivated by the lie that Trump had won the election) – video footage shows Capital police officers laughing and joking with protestors, sharing food, drink, and cigarettes, and even removing barricades to allow protestors through – wishing them luck as they went on their way. Officers on duty within the building turned their backs, left their posts, and unlocked security doors to enable the storming. What a difference a few years make – and a change of government. Sgt Brian McGuinness, whilst in uniform, committed no act of aggression or violence – but simply exercised his freedom of speech. The way he was treated demonstrates just how far the US has descended down the path of fascism!
