Clara Zetkin (1857-1933) – Founder of International Women’s Day (March 8)
When Adolf Hitler rose to power in 1933, Clara Zetkin had to flee to the Soviet Union for safety. However, not long after arriving, she succumbed to old age and died at 75 years old. Her remains were interned into the Kremlin Wall – such was the value of her life work.
