The New Buddhist Year of 2566 is about to start – it is another year in which we still have to face obstacles and challenges! Therefore, I would like to call on the entire Communist Party, the State, the Armed Forces and all the People of Laos to preserve and enhance the good (Buddhist) heritage of our nation, to enhance the unity that is a already strong bond, to focus all our strength through encouragement and intelligence in the mission of protecting and developing our nation, and to push the implementation of the two National Agendas (Buddhist and Socialist) into a more formal and integrated order as a means of self-strengthening – in this way we can create a strong and deep transformation in all fields of work in the coming year!

After a while, the respected Comrade General Secretary said that even if the children are not directly instructed by adults to keep to the right – they will quite naturally step on the outlines (and travel up and down the stairs) keeping to the right-hand side of the stairs entirely by themselves! He said that this was an excellent example of natural education – achieved with only a minimal correct effort regarding planning!

The Nursery Workers’ hearts grew warm with appreciation! As they were only doing their duty for the people – to receive such unexpected praise from the respected General Secretary was completely unexpected and very much welcomed! The next step is always an event in action as the construction of Socialism relies on a continuous outpouring of such ingenius ideas – a processes that NEVER ceases – the General Secretary confirned! Determined to tackle deep-seated land and housing issues, Lee called for building 30,000 new public housing units, increasing the city’s public housing supply by about 50 percent in the next five years.

The government will also shorten the waiting time for public housing from six to 4.5 years, and cut the time for turning “primitive land “into “spade-ready sites” by one-third to half, Lee said.

Abbey Mills: Merton Priory Chapter House – 900 Year Old Wooden Arch! Part 1 (7.8.2022)

A friend of mine forwarded me a local newspaper article that explained that this artefact had been kept (in storage) for over 30 years at the Wandle Industrial Museum, before an expert realised what it was! Chapter House is a building in a car-park opposite a very large supermarket – but the entire grounds of an Augustine monastery lie under this car-park with only part of it currently being visible to the general public! This project requires a major input of money and expertise so that the entire complex can be excavated and enjoyed by the general public! I suspect the car-park needs to be removed and rebuilt at a higher level – so that the monastic ruins can be exposed and preserved in a safe and protected underground environment that the general public can visit. At the moment, adults and children can visit for ‘free’ with the exhibition being open only on Sundays between 11 am – 4 pm! The people that administer this project are friendly, knowledgeable and are willing to engage absolutely EVERYONE who finds their way into the Chapter House!
