Ancient Egyptians never encountered the Jews because Judaism as a religion is not as old as its believers assume, etc, but we can see how Newton’s thought-processes were operating. He incorrectly believed that the Jews built the Pyramids – and that ‘God’ must have directed the Jews in this activity, and so on. Therefore, Newton (like many others) believed the Pyramids were the inspired machinations of a Judeo-Christian God! Either that or Cambridge University needs funds for a new Smoking Room – and the Dons decided to auction-off one of the Newton manuscripts currently held in their possession!

Another way in which these ‘unseen’ substances are known to be present is through the effect they appear to have on objects moving through what was once thought to be ’empty’ space. There appears to be a ‘gravitational’ effect on objects moving through apparently ’empty’ space that should not be happening if space was in fact ’empty’.

As Wittgenstein was trained as an engineer, it is reasonable to assume that he thought that logic could be (or should be) described as if it where a machine comprised of individually functioning parts, that when operated together, produce the desired ‘manufactured’ object.
