Laos Buddhist-Socialist Republic: PM Calls for Strong Improvement in All Education Standards During New Academic Year! (22.9.2026)

He commended education administrators, teachers, students, local authorities and development partners for their contributions during the 2025–2026 academic year, particularly in improving school infrastructure, expanding school meals in remote areas, promoting non-formal education, increasing student allowances and reducing school dropout rates.

For the new academic year, he called for stronger measures to address teacher shortages, reduce dropout rates, improve vocational and higher education enrolment, and enhance teaching quality through modern techniques and technology.

The Prime Minister urged teachers to uphold professional ethics and continuously improve teaching methods, while encouraging parents to ensure their children remain in school through at least compulsory lower-secondary education.

Dressing to Impress!

Surrey: Visiting “Jane Austen’s House”! (26.5.2026)

Indeed, Jane was only 42-years old when she died (despite never marrying or having children of her own) – but she lived through the heady days of French Revolution, the rise of Napoleon, and the Battle of Waterloo. Despite the political class of Britain opposing the French Revolution (and opposing all the Socialist developments that arose from it) – many middle-class, literate British individuals found the times to be inspiring. Although I do not know for certain with regards Jane Austen – she was one of those literate British women who trailblazed in a man’s world via her written works (Pride & Prejudice, Sense & Sensibility, etc) – which are still best sellers today. Many of her works are performed as plays, and have been adapted for TV and the big screen. Whatever the case, on Tuesday May 26th, we headed out up the road to a nearby place called “Chawton” – where one of the houses owned by the Austen family is located.

Diane Wyles [Author] – a Ghost Story – “An American Airmen in Oxford”! (28.8.2025)

My father ran into the room and found no one there. From what I remember – it was not dark – so I suppose it must have been a Summer’s evening. The room was clean, tidy, and painted in a bright colour – probably off-white, or something like that. It is a curious event as I have never seen anything similar in my life. Whatever the case, the Editor – HE Bulstrode (a friend of mother) – gathered all these stories together and I think the original author’s should have been credited. Still, this is just what I am doing in this post. Did I imagine an event that other people I do not know (or have ever met) experienced exactly the same delusion? How could this happen? Why would this happen? Interesting.

Detective Chief Superintendent James Dunkerley, the Head of Counter Terrorism Policing North East, said: “Robert, Stephen and Rosie Talland were part of a network of hatred which had encouraged violence and extreme right wing terrorism across Europe for decades.

“Robert Talland dismissed the group as an ‘old man’s drinking club’, but through the gigs and events they organised, they promoted music which glorified acts of murder to audiences which included young children. In doing so, they encouraged attitudes of hatred, intolerance and violence which have no place in our society.

“The verdicts today come after a lengthy and detailed investigation into the Talland family and their activities. Counter Terrorism Policing is committed to targeting the people who encourage racist violence by bringing them to justice.

Why China Should Use ‘British’ English in its Official Translations! (11.9.2023)

Furthermore, there is no such entity as ‘British’ English – as this is an insulting designation that reduces our original language of ‘English’ to a relative construct, or just one version amongst many. This is similar to reducing Chinese script to the scripts as developed by its Korean or Japanese cousins. Indeed, American-English is a vehicle which has been historically developed and designed to express a) US anti-intellectualism, and b) US racial (anti-Chinese) attitudes. This is why I reject the Chinese State habit of officially using ‘American-English’ when translating Chinese-language articles into ‘English’. The English language as spoken and written in the UK is ancient and historically pre-exists any modern notions of Western racism (unlike its Ameican counter-part – which expresses the racism within which US culture has developed). Therefore, the English as used in the UK possesses a historical ‘strength in depth’ – that can be moulded in any direction as required.
