Chinese Science - Space Hospital Could Look Like This!

China: Futuristic Space Hospital Being Designed! (7.8.2025)

The Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology and the Shanghai Engineering Centre for Microsatellites recently signed a cooperation agreement to jointly establish a space hospital in the future. This project aims to enhance astronauts’ health and expand in-orbit medical monitoring and life support capabilities.

The future space hospital will make breakthroughs in fields such as aerospace, medicine and biology, and conduct cutting-edge research in space life and health support. It will also prepare research on non-astronauts space travel, interstellar exploration and other space health support needs, the China Science Daily reported Wednesday.

Socialist Medicine in China!

China: First Closed-Loop Spinal Cord Neural Interface Surgery Helps 61-Year Old Paraplegic Patient Walk! (22.5.2025)

The British NHS is now system that manages illnesses rather than cures them, blames the sick and the injured for the maladies they suffer, and slowly accommodates death rather than prevents it. GPs (doctors) see all their patients as scroungers who are a drain on their profit-making. We literally have to audition for our health. If we get the balance of humour and concern just right – we might be thrown a banana. Of course, we are told, “private” healthcare is the answer to all our problems. If you know private healthcare you will understand this is not true in anyway. When China gave its poorest citizens an inoculation for lung cancer – Trump (first time around) declared this “an example of the evil of Socialism!” The story below is of a 61-year old man who injured his back. There is no way the British NHS would finance this type of treatment. And herein lies the difference between UK capitalism and Chinese Socialism!

Haytor Neidan Self-Cultivation!

Ch’an Dao Blog Article – Neidan As We Get Older! (18.4.2025)

I suspect the ancient Greeks encountered Buddhist monasticism when visiting India (such as Pythagoras), learned the Buddhist method of “looking within”, and then adjusted the technique as a means to “prove” the efficacy of their particular philosophical perspectives (the work of Plotinus may be taken as an example of this endeavour). Later, via the Greeks, a community of Jews (in Qumran) started sitting in meditation to personally attain a “glimpse of Yahweh” – a practice that eventually spread to the reformed Jewish sect of “Christianity” – whose adherents started to meditate whilst sat in the caves found in the Egyptian Desert (this type of Christianity spread to Britain – hundreds of years prior to Catholicism – becoming “Celtic Christianity”).

UK: Bleak Poverty Statistics "Wearily Familiar" - Joseph Rowntree Foundation! (6.2.2025)

UK: Bleak Poverty Statistics “Wearily Familiar” – Joseph Rowntree Foundation! (6.2.2025)

Larger families with three or more children have consistently faced a higher rate of poverty, it says: 45 per cent of children in large families were in poverty in 2022/23. Disabled people, carers, renters, people claiming benefits, and people in workless households were also at a disproportionately higher risk of poverty.

More recent figures were equally bleak, owing to the continued affects of the cost-of-living crisis. In October 2024, about 2.6 million of the poorest fifth of households (44 per cent) were in arrears with their household bills or behind on scheduled lending repayments; 4.1 million households (69 per cent) were going without essentials; and 3.2 million households (54 per cent) cut back on food or went hungry.

CSA: Piles of Thread-Bare Confederates at Antietam [Sharpsburg] – Notes on Their Sacrifice! (31.1.2025)

The Union Army paid the farmer $1 per dead Confederate body and the farmer made $60 out of the deal. He dug a new well in a different place for the cost of $2 – making a wartime profit of $58. No one knows the names of these Confederate soldiers – and if it was not for a report being made by the Union soldiers concerned – no one would know about these men today. Of course, there was great bravery on both sides – but the spin placed on the war by the winners has skewed how the Confederacy is viewed today. These Confederate men (and boys) advanced into the Union fire with the utmost discipline and determination. They believed 100% in their cause – which was for the freedom of their individual countries (termed “States”). At the time, this war was not only about slavery – but has been made ONLY about slavery since 1865. Many believed the federalisation of the United States was a betrayal of the 1776 War of Independence – and nothing short of a great evil!

Disability in Ancient Egypt!

Disability History Month: British Museum – Eight Histories of Disabled People in Ancient Egypt! (18.12.2024)

Disabled people have always been present and active in society. Many specialists and experts around the world have started to investigate representations and lived experiences of disability and care in the past through archaeology and museum collections. The objects and remains highlighted here demonstrate some of the stories we are uncovering and hint at the discoveries that might be made in the future. We hope that these stories will demonstrate to everyone that disabled people have always existed and been part of the story of humanity, and empower disabled people to see themselves in history, and to continue making it, thousands of years into the future.
