Things will not racially improve if China just pretends (or even actually becomes) “capitalist”. As I write, I know Chinese students are being illegally taken into custody and forcibly questioned by the US authorities regarding their association with the Communist Party. China complains here and there about this – but does very little on the practical level as trade is considered more important – and that boat must not be rocked under any circumstance. Karl Marx wrote some very good articles for the US newspapers regarding China and its socio-economic development in the face of a ruthless imperialist domination. All genuine progressives must retain a lucidity and fluidity of thought in all circumstance (exactly what Mao Zedong did – as he literally “thought” outside his own ethno-centric predicament) – as this is the dialectical way. We must not become trapped in the rather childish Judeo-Christian cul-de-sac of a “good vs bad” dichotomy. Just because someone – or some entity – does not like you observing, discussing, or thinking about a certain aspect (or set of aspects) – this should not necessarily mean that you should abide by this imposed limitation of thought. The 79-year-old former fashion editor of Harpers and Queen said: “There was something about me and my extreme youth that he thought may be pleasing to an actor’s eye.

“He’d lead me from the National Gallery and position me outside every stage door, week after week, before the start of the matinee.

“We’d await the arrival of the stars, the leading actors, hurrying into make-up and costume.”

But they were never summoned backstage.

“Nobody invited us around to their dressing rooms, or slipped a card into my father’s gloved hand, murmuring to get in touch and bring the lovely child along,” she said.

“Time was running out for my father. I was growing older every day. That was his failure, the inability to stop the march of time.

“The first violence began after the failure to find a paramour or protector, or frankly a paedophile, to share his daughter,” she said. “One who might change the family fortunes for the better.

Her dad, who died in 1956, even hoped to pimp his girl to movie legend Errol Flynn, she said.

“He’d read somewhere that Errol Flynn had a penchant for young girls, the younger the better, and began gambling a portion of his wages on a weekly basis to raise the fare to Hollywood for me and himself.”

The greedy amongst us could still exercise “individualism” – whilst the workers sought a collective path to inner and outer freedom. Oh, how lucky we were! We all thought a Socialist Revolution was just around the corner and the UK would become a Soviet State! Then, the ogre of Thatcherism hove into view and hit us hard – and the workers lost all the hard-earned gains made with our blood toil before and during WWIi! Our children listen and ingest this deep meaning. Today, the Olde Sweet Shoppe is owned by an Asian family – but the male owner treated me with respect – and in so doing – he earned my respect. As an Englishman, I thanked him for treating my family with respect and politeness. Unlike the fascist, I don’t particularly care about who takes my money and processes my order. I wamt to transform the process away from exploitation – and not harm those who are active within it. There are many “White” English who are as ignorant as sh’t out there! They do not get a Free Pass from me just because they happen to have been born “English”. English people should behave to a higher standard – not lower.

Trump had promised during his presidential campaign to end the conflict in 24 hours after assuming office. In reality, it has turned out to be a far more complicated issue than he expected because of the totally diverse conditions laid out by the parties involved.

The Biden administration had repeatedly rejected ceasefire and peace talks because its goal was to weaken, and ultimately defeat, Russia. The European Union had been parroting the same rhetoric in the recent past. But once Trump took office, EU politicians, too, started talking about a ceasefire and putting an end to the conflict, in order to please Trump.

The ceasefire conditions that are acceptable to Trump and the EU leaders are also quite different. Many Europeans believe that the conditions laid out by Trump mean Russia will emerge the winner. That’s why when Trump, Vice-President JD Vance and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth all ruled out NATO membership for Ukraine, no EU leaders were willing to accept that scenario, at least publicly.

Mouldy Old Oranges!

China: Mouldy Old Oranges & the Groucho Marx-School of News Reporting! (26.3.2025)

A social media user on the Chinese platform RedNote discovered the white fungal growth on an apple she had bought from a month earlier. She then posted a photo of it online, which soon attracted thousands of likes, including a Xu Rongju, a doctoral student at the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Kunming Institute of Botany.

The institute believed that this is very rare and has research value so it decided to purchase it. The institute identified the growth on the apple as Schizophyllum, also known as the splitgill mushroom – a type of fungus with fan-shaped caps.
