Year of the Green [Wood] Dragon Has Arrived! (10.2.2024)

It is time for Cards, red envelopes, coins, incense and banging the gong! The head of the household (me) – walks around the house banging a small gong over three-laps! The news is said to drive-out the old (stale) ‘Qi’ (Virtuous Energy) and welcome-in the ‘new’ energy – which in this year takes the form of a ‘green’ (wood) Dragon! As the Dragon is elusive, and given that I am embodying its Spirit at this precise moment – I do not appear in the photographs – and yet I am ‘everywhere’ throughout this ancient procedure!

The Clan Gibson of Sutton! (9.11.2023)

Our branch of the Gibson family is recorded as having been ‘rope-makers’ and are believed to have originally migrated out of Scotland hundreds of years ago – and to have ‘walked’ down through England until they eventually settled in East London. This is a journey that took decades and involved small clusters settling here and there. Featured is out Scottish Tartan – but as ‘Gibson’ is of Viking heritage – the Vikings settled in both England and Scotland at different times and during the centuries prior to the Norman Conquest of 1066 CE. As the Normans were Vikings who had settled in France – this adds yet another level of transmission. The ‘Son of Gibb’ was thought to have been a mighty Viking warrior!

UK: Tories Suffer Massive Losses in Local Council Elections – But Does it Matter? (6.5.2023)

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that his party’s losses were disappointing, but he did not believe there had been a massive movement towards the Labour Party.

Labour leader Keir Starmer said his party was on course to win a majority at the next general election.

Professor John Curtice, a polling expert, said that based on the current results Labour should be the leader in next year’s parliamentary election. However, it is uncertain whether they will win an outright majority, he said.

Under Britain’s electoral rules, a general election must be called before the end of 2024.

Professor John Bryson, a political expert from the University of Birmingham, told Xinhua that local elections should not necessarily be seen as indicative of voter behavior in a future general election.

No political party in the country currently has a viable strategy to underpin sustainable growth and address the structural fiscal deficit that Britain has been experiencing for “far too long”, Bryson said.

DPRK: Progressing the Signage at the Korean Cental Zoo! (8.4.2023)

A few years later, the respected General Secretary – who visited the Korea Central Zoo again where reconstruction work was underway – had not forgetten what happened at that time which resulted in new information signboards being placed everywhere – so that visitors to the Korea Central Zoo would not have any inconvenience in looking around the zoo! He stated this action had to be taken to serve the people! Even today, the guide sign board of the Korea Central Zoo conveys the noble will of the respected General Secretary that his function is nothing but serving the interests of the people – working for the convenience and interests of the people! China Debuts Full Solar-Powered Drone! (5.8.2022)

Near space is that part of Earth’s atmosphere at altitudes of 20 to 100 kilometers, encompassing portions of the stratosphere, mesosphere and lower thermosphere. It is above the top altitudes of commercial airliners but below orbiting satellites.

The drone is able to fly at altitudes of up to over 20 km and can stay airborne overnight. The solar panels are placed on the wings that have a combined length of 50 meters, said Zhu Shengli, head designer of Qimingxing 50.
