Economic Watch: More Lenders Could be at Risk of Failure in US Banking Turmoil! (28.4.2023)

U.S. banking turmoil is not over yet, and it’s expected that a large-scale restructuring would take place in the U.S. banking sector, said Tianyang Wang, associate professor in the Department of Finance and Real Estate at Colorado State University.Many medium-sized and small banks won’t survive the loss of deposits and some of them have to be acquired by big banks at low prices, said Wang during a recent webinar.U.S. banks are paying more to hold on to deposits, setting aside more reserves for potential loan losses in the event of a potential recession, and are now more focused on building capital rather than returning it to shareholders in the form of dividends and buybacks, said a research note by Swiss banking giant UBS.The highly anticipated Q1 results from U.S. banks did not raise any new red flags about stresses in the banking system, largely putting to rest concerns about systemic risks, said the UBS.The UBS said it remains least preferred on financials stocks and continues to expect guidance and estimates to trend lower in the coming quarters as deposit pricing issues become more apparent and as the economy weakens.

Remembering Chernobyl today – we cannot forget the nobility of Cuba and Fidel personally – who saved thousands of Soviet children’s lives! The authors of the ‘lying’ and ‘poorly’ conceived Anglo-American miniseries about “Chernobyl” – will never understand why Cuba, already betrayed by Gorbachev, hungry and alone in an uncaring (predatory capitalist) world, without the “hype” of publicity and demanding absolutely nothing in return, accepted more than 25 thousand Ukrainian, Belarusian and Russian children for rehabilitation!

Laos Buddhist-Socialist Republic: President of the Supreme People’s Court Addresses People’s Court of District II! (27.4.2023)

District People’s Court must be strengthened to be a good service provider, a pure and transparent administration acting with honesty and a pure and faithful intet toward the profession! This requires paying attention to training court staff to be knowledgeable, ethical, moral and professional in performing their duties, especially judges who are arbitrators on cases considered very important because such judgments and arbitrations touch the life, health, freedom, dignity and rights and legitimate interests of the People! There must be a paying attention to coordination and discussion with the relevant parties of the prosecution according to the process of justice, especially the District People’s Prosecutor’s Office, the District Justice Office, the National Police Officer and other parties involved in the consideration of solving cases that are difficult, complicated, and related to many problems!

Email: Luling Iron Cross Fabrication! (27.4.2023)

My personal opinion is that as ‘Crosses’ were not yet being widely used within Palestine by Jewish-Christian, I see no reason to assume that a ‘Crusader-era’ Cross would a) exist during the 3rd century CE, or b) be transported to China as an ‘act of faith’ and ‘conversion’! All these (hideous) aspects of Christian belief would not infest the teachings of Christ for many centuries to come. As I have said elsewhere, even the 8th century (Nestorian) Christian (stone) monuments preserved within China do NOT possess a single example of a ‘Cross’! 

The ‘Couplet’ was probably composed during the 14th century CE to placate and interest the ‘new’ Sun Wu Emperor – a peasant who had overthrown the (foreign) Yuan Dynasty and re-established Chinese rule of China! This Emperor apparently liked poetry and particularly favoured ‘Couplets’ – so perhaps an over-zealous Minister (who had heard of ‘Christianity’) decided to fabricate the ‘finding’ of a ‘Cross’ (also constructed during the 14th century) – which soon had to go ‘missing’ so as to prevent any serious investigation of the matter – and the entire fabrication being found out! Heads would have rolled!

Virtually Attending a GG Allin Concert (1991)! (27.4.2023) 

Perhaps underrated and virtually forgotten (as GG Allin rolls around on broken glass, sh’t, vomit and his own blood – whilst ‘shouting’ incoherently into a mic) is the staying power of his backing group! They soldier on playing the drums and guitar – whilst stagehands keep an eye on the violence by regulating its intensity – ensuring GG Allin is not overwhelmed by multiple opponents or beaten too far into unconsciousness (as there is a show to perform)! GG Allin certainly seems to take a good shot and always comes back for more whilst serenely detached from the events he is the centre and has unleashed. Occasionally, the drummer has to stand the cymbal back up or realign the bass drum with the snare, etc, sometimes continuing to bang away with a single drumstick whilst these adjustments are made, and prostrate bodies cleared away from the working area! The guitarist seems to think he’s in ‘Nirvana’ with the manner of his dress and his indifference to the madness that is unfolding around him! Every so often he fires a well-aimed kick at the body (or head) of an unsuspecting audience member who has just fallen over his own legs – or some part of GG Allin’s anatomy! All Grist for the mill.
