April 11th - Remember Nazi German Barbarity!

WWII: When the Soviet Red Army Liberated Nazi German & Finnish Concentration Camps! (12.4.2025)

The Nazis created the entire system, designed to… efficiently dispose of and exterminate people of ‘undesirable’ ethnicities, social views and those who opposed them — communists, Jews, Slavs, Roma, POWs, members of Resistance movements. This Nazi lethal & inhumane machine comprised massive network of concentration and death camps established in Germany & occupied territories. Millions of prisoners from the Soviet Union and European countries were kept there in horrible, inhuman conditions. There were over 20 million prisoners from 30 countries held captives in those camps, including about 5 million Soviet citizens. In 1946, the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg declared the creation of such camps not only as a war crime but also as a crime against humanity.

Palestine: Overcrowded Rafah – Open Prison That Resembles the Day of Judgement! (23.2.2024)

Awad tells Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed: “We no longer care about anything, as anxiety has become an essential part of our daily lives. I walk to the market every day to secure our needs, and every evening I remember my destroyed home and my martyred brothers. We are forced to bear the pressure. I have two children, Ahmed (9 years old) and Ola (8 years old), and they tell me that they long to breathe freely and comfortably, but we do not have this luxury currently, and our day goes from morning to evening in fatigue and anxiety, and we fear that the process will begin again. I worry that the Zionist military forces will come and I lose my children – and then we are busy again getting water and bread.”

Karate Kid Movie [1984] Blu-Ray – “Mr Miyagi” Reconsidered! (14.1.2024)

The authors of the film ‘Karate Kid’ (1984) had a paradox to overcome. On the one hand they wanted a traditional ‘Okinawan’ Karate-Do master – who at the same time had NOTHING to do with Okinawa either before or during WWII! This entire idea is racist and disrespectful to the hundreds of thousands of Okinawan men, women and children who died being trapped between the Imperial Japanese Army and the invading US Marines – and those who died fighting the Americans or were murdered by US troops after surrender. Of course, many thousands of Okinawan women and girls were raped by US troops once captured. Although Mr Miyagi had to represent everything ‘martial’ that defines Okinawan history – including its stand against the invading US Forces – he also had to be completely ‘detached’ from everything ethnically ‘Okinawan’ so as not to disturb the Eurocentric sensitivities of the average US audience!

Palestine: Helping from a Distance – Fighting the Evil of Zionism! (20.6.2023)

The journey toward liberation and true unity begins within us, challenging us to make conscious choices and sacrifices. Diaspora must forge ahead to create the “popular cradle” that supports resistance inside and outside. To feel the fear of repression yet not be deterred, to see the intersections between our struggle and wider movements against imperialism, and to engage in resistance that illuminates the path: these are the steps we need to take.
