China: BJP-Controlled UK Obsessed with “Secret Policeman’s Ball”! (8.6.2023)

Besides the hyping-up of the so-called secret police stations, Britain has committed to the removal of Chinese-made surveillance equipment from sensitive government sites “as part of its latest plans to address national security concerns related to China,” Reuters reported on Wednesday. 

Britain has used some groundless incidents to hype up the so-called China threat and taken a series of actions to undermine bilateral relations without any evidence, Gao Jian, a scholar from Shanghai International Studies University and China Forum expert, told the Global Times on Wednesday. 

“This is not an isolated case, as the British side has been taking a series of similar moves to hype up the ‘China threat.’ For one reason, it needs to shift public attention from its own domestic woes, and for another, it has been catering to the U.S.-led West’s Cold War mentality,” Gao said.

In June last year (2022), Maslov, the chief researcher of the Siberian branch, was arrested on suspicion of “transferring secret State data related to missiles.” Immediately afterwards, Hipuyuk, Director of the Institute of Theory and Mechanics of the Academy – was also arrested by the Police. These three scientists can all be called Russia’s “National Treasure” level of scientific experts. They have made outstanding contributions to the field of hypersonic missiles. China: “Do NOT Confuse Hegemony of Navigation with FREEDOM of Navigation!” (5.5.2023)

State Councilor and Defense Minister General Li Shangfu called on Sunday for regional countries to stay highly vigilant and firmly reject the actions of some countries outside the South China Sea, which exercise “hegemony of navigation “in the name of “freedom of navigation”.

He warned that those countries just want to “muddy the waters” of the South China Sea to “rake in profits”.

The defense chief made the remarks in his speech delivered at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, a day after United States Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told the security forum that the US will continue to work with allies and partners to uphold “freedom of navigation and overflight” in the South China Sea.
