China Has Explored the Celestial Realms for Thousands of Years!

China: Ancient Astronomical Instruments Draw Museum-Goers to Cosmic Quest! (15.8.2026)

HEFEI, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) — China’s museums are often defined by their porcelain, calligraphy and ritual vessels. But a new exhibition in east China’s Anhui Province is turning the spotlight away from traditional treasures and toward scientific endeavors of the past, showcasing jade cosmograms, celestial star charts and bronze globes crafted by astronomers centuries ago.

Titled “Divine-Sky Exploration: The Cosmological Vision of Chinese Civilization,” the exhibition at the Anhui Museum brings together nearly 300 artifacts from 48 institutions nationwide. It is a rare exhibition in China focused specifically on presenting the country’s “understanding of the universe” through cultural relics.

Since its launch in July, the show has drawn some 350,000 visitors, fascinated by the instruments ancient Chinese used to observe, measure and pay homage to the universe.

UK: Charlie Chuck Does Horoscopes! (7.6.2026)

Wonderfully discontinuous! Professor Charles Chuck from up North! Today, the venerable Professor addresses the subject of ancient Celtic Horoscopes – and informs the audience of an interesting archaeological find in a cave somewhere in England. Although I am considered an expert in translating ancient Chinese text – I cannot translate what Prof. Chuck is saying (or the way he is saying it) for non-native Brits. Apologies for that – you are stuck with reality I’m afraid. Just allow the cadence to wash across you like a cool breeze and permit the jumbled metaphors to come and go as they please. This is from the James Whale Show of 1993. A masterpiece of a sketch. It may not mean a lot to you – but it meant even less to Prof. Chuck! I have had academic teachers who made about as much sense to me as Ptof. Chuck means to everyone else!

As compassion and loving kindness grows and is magnified through the more people it is shared with – these statements act as “ripples” of positive energy emanating that traverse through the portals of the past, present, and future – excluding none and embracing all! Of course, the Buddha defined the human mind as being that capacity which can perceive the present, recall the past, and plan for the future. This is a remarkable observation. What the Ch’an School offers, infused as it is with the thinking associated with Confucianism – and the far older “Book of Change” – is that the mind should a) be “stilled” (realising a relative emptiness), b) a product of purifying all vestiges of greed, hatred, and delusion, and c) and in so-doing experiencing the expansion of this “emptiness” realisation into an “all-embracing” reality.
