China: BBC “Editing Scandal” Deepens Credibility Crisis! (15.11.2025)

The controversy erupted after The Daily Telegraph revealed an internal BBC memo showing that an October 2024 Panorama episode, Trump: A Second Chance?, had stitched together two segments of Trump’s speech on Jan. 6, 2021, delivered more than 50 minutes apart. The edit created the misleading impression that Trump was directly urging supporters toward the Capitol riot, sparking public outrage and prompting The New York Times to label it as the BBC’s “worst crisis in decades.”

Welsh-Children Demand “Apology” for Black-Boxer – Cuthbert Taylor [1909-1977] – Denied Title Shot Due to Colour-Bar! (21.11.2024)

One of the letters to the board reads: “We think that it is unfair that Cuthbert Taylor and other boxers without white, British parents were not allowed to fight for the British title. The colour bar was horrendous, horrific and disgraceful. It was not right then and it is not right now.”

It adds: “It was probably his dream to be the British boxing champion, but your colour bar stopped his dream from coming true.”

Schools that have written to the board include Cwmnedd primary in the Neath Valley, St Joseph’s Catholic junior, Port Talbot; Ysgol Gymraeg Santes Tudful in Merthyr Tydfil and Llanfaes community primary in Brecon. The number of schools involved continues to grow.

Aisling Brady Saunders, the deputy headteacher at St Joseph’s, said: “It was entirely the children’s idea to pen letters – they feel very strongly that Cuthbert Taylor, his surviving family and all boxers affected by the colour bar rule should have an apology.”

Soe Tjen Marching is a lecturer at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. Her father was persecuted and imprisoned by the Indonesian military. She said that the actions against the Chinese in 1965 “led to a large extent to generating lethal levels of suspicion and discrimination between Chinese and non-Chinese Indonesians. Therefore, the British government urgently needs to apologize.”

Tabor’s Steve Alston said his organization was “appalled that the UK government is involved in a disinformation campaign that incites violence”. Tabor is an NGO that monitors Human Rights issues in Indonesia. Alston said: “Faced with this evidence, the UK government must now commit to launching an investigation by an independent prosecutor and completing it within 18 months.”

Japan Needs Correct Understanding of China: Chinese Ambassador! (30.4.2023)

Regarding the discharge plan of Fukushima nuclear wastewater into the sea, Wu said that the disposal of nuclear-contaminated water has a direct bearing on the global marine environment and human health and safety, and no one can make a conclusion as to how long the impact will last and how much harm it will bring.

China’s position on the issue is clear, that is, it firmly opposes Japan’s discharge plan of nuclear-contaminated water, he said, noting that the Japanese side should take the strong opposition at home and abroad seriously, honestly fulfill its international obligations and deal with the nuclear-contaminated water in the safest and most prudent way.

When asked about the Group of Seven (G7)’s recent accusations against China, Wu said the G7 has become a political tool of some countries to wantonly interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and suppress the development and progress of other countries.

The G7 does not represent the international community and their consensus is not a global consensus, the ambassador stressed.
