Originally opened in 1920, Croydon Airport played a pivotal role in advancing aviation in the aftermath of World War 1.

UK: Croydon Aerodrome Open as Museum! (11.6.2026)

As far as I am aware, this place was originally called the “Croydon Aerodrome” – and only later became an “Airport”. As it is located just outside Sutton (in Purley Way) – I have seen it described as “Sutton Airport”. I also have a dim memory that the area was used in WWI by the Royal Flying Corps – and possibly a place for launching Airships and/or Balloons – although this information is missing in this article (although I have linked the museum above). The single comment left below states that the museum has been open since 2000 – but this is news to me and I live near this area. I thought it served as a hotel and perhaps part of it still does. I know that the UK’s last Hangman – Albert Pierrepoint – used Croydon Airport when travelling around London gaols plying his deadly trade (probably in 1953). It was very rare for ordinary working-class people to use air travel prior to the 1970s (the Beatles did in the 1960s onward – as they were mega-rich and famous by then) – but Albert Pierrepoint’s travel was paid for him by the Home Office – his employer.

Brixham: Coins in the Wall! (2.4.2026)

Administrative matters aside – I notice the above “interior” wall looks as if it used to be an “external” wall – as it looks weather-beaten and worn. Furthermore, in the UK, builders often leave a coin featuring the year any renovations were carried-out as a form of “good luck”. Usually, we find these coins under floor-boards, carpets, and lino, etc. Sometimes they are lodged between wooden joints or under various structures. In this wall, the coins seem cemented on the outside of the wall. There is a 1966 half-penny, and a 1960 three-penny. When I was first at school in the early 1970s – these coins were still in use. The old half-penny would today possess the buying power of £5 – whilst the three-penny bit could buy about £30s worth of goods. This was before the UK joined the EEC (1.1.1973). Prior to this, a British pound was comprised of 240 pence – afterwards it was deliberately devalued to just “100” pence. What a disgrace all this was!

No War On Iran!

US: Hero Veteran – Brian McGuinness – Released – & US Colony of South Korea Joins in Protest! (10.3.2026)

Oneday, the South Korean population might well develop the conscious awareness to reject the US military, cultural, political, and religious domination of their country. Christian missionaries run rampant and uncontrolled whilst brain-washing young Korean children into thinking that being “Buddhist” or “Confucius” is primitive and sets the psychological agenda for the building of Socialism. It is interesting that some South Koreans support Iran – but generally do not express this level of support for their North Korean brethren. The US injustices against North Korea are endless and ongoing – and are often supported by the allies of the US. Meanwhile, North Korea always opposes any and all forms of US neo-imperialist activity – and the Red Army of North Korea has shed its blood on the Kursk battlefield of Russia – stopping a UK-planned (illegal) invasion of that country! Still, inconsistencies and contradictions aside – more power to this protestor’s elbow!

US: Trump Administration Erases Native American & Slavery History from US National Parks! (1.2.2026)

The American Historical Association and the Organization of American Historians, the two major professional organizations for historians in the United States, issued a joint statement upon the signing of the executive order, calling the administration’s policies “a systemic campaign to distort, manipulate, and erase significant parts of the historical record.”

“Recent directives insidiously prioritize narrow ideology over historical research, historical accuracy, and the actual experiences of Americans,” the joint statement said.

Native American communities have been particularly affected. According to the National Parks Conservation Association, a nonprofit advocacy group, funding cuts have severely undermined the work of more than 200 Tribal Historic Preservation Officers nationwide. These positions help tribes protect their heritage sites and ensure accurate representation of their history.

Everest: How PRC Climber – “Xu Jingzeng” [许竞曾] – Located the Body of – Andrew Irvine – in 1960! (24.12.2024)

There is still a chance. The camera they carried with them at the time was not found. Perhaps Irvine’s body will be found one day, which may solve this century-old mystery.

I saw an article on the Internet reporting that Chinese mountaineer Xu Jingzeng once said that he had seen Irvine’s body at 8,300 meters on Mount Everest in 1960. Yesterday, a netizen commented in my previous article that the documentary about the Chinese climbing Mount Everest in 1960 mentioned that they found the bodies of foreign climbers during the climb.

In 1960, the Chinese completed the first ascent of Mount Everest from the north slope. Before that, there were only a few climbing records, including Mallory in 1921 and 1924. It is indeed possible that they found Irvine’s remains, but no one paid attention to these things at the time, and they were lost in history again.
