Xinjiang enjoys economic development, social stability, religious harmony and cultural prosperity and people there lead a happy life, she said. “These are facts for all to see, yet the UK side chooses to be oblivious to this and has deliberately smeared and slandered China. The status quo of the Taiwan Strait is that both sides of the Strait belong to one and the same China.”

She pointed out that the biggest threat to peace in the Taiwan Strait comes from the “Taiwan independence” separatist activities and the US connivance at and support for them. If the UK side wants sustained peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, it needs to strictly abide by the one-China principle and stand firmly against the “Taiwan independence” separatist activities.

“I want to reiterate that the Taiwan question and issues concerning Hong Kong and Xinjiang are purely China’s internal affairs which brook no external interference. We urge the UK to be prudent in its words and actions, stop making groundless accusations against China and interfering in China’s internal affairs, and do more things that are conducive to the development of China-UK relations and world peace and stability,” she said.

To this end, Donald Steamship Company bought these Chinese people a third-class group ticket – numbered 1601 – price £56, 9 shillings and 11 pence. The ‘Chinese’ names registered on this collective ticket are written in phonetic English and read:

1) Fang Lang

2) Choong Foo

3) Ali Lam

4) Ling Hee

5) Chang Chip

6) Lee Bing

7) Lee Ling

8) Len Lam

Amongst them the youngest was 24 years old whilst the oldest was 37 years old. As dispatch workers (who were sent anywhere at anytime with no Union support or protection) – these Chinese men were made to work more than 12 hours a day in terrible conditions – whilst receiving only one-fifth the pay of that earned by White (Umionised) workers doing exactly the same job!

It is a sad fact that one of the first websites established on the US-controlled internet (during 1997) was dedicated to the political far-right and used the language of mainstream academia to convey the Neo-Nazi pseudo-science that advocates the falsehood of a racial hierarchy – placing the ‘White’ Europeans at the top – and the ‘Black’ Africans at the bottom! Considering how difficult it was in those days to establish even a single line of descriptive text or generate a basic picture online in those days – the suspicion is that the government of US President Clinton was behind this website!

The Patriarch Founder of the DPRK – Kim Il Sung – was born 1912. The Soviet Union assisted Kim Il Sung in founding the DPRK on September 9th, 1948. Like the USSR, the DPRK adopted the Gregorian Calendar. On September 9th, 1997, the DPRK instigated the ‘Juche Calendar’ (Korean: ‘주체연호’ – Ju Che Yeon Ho) – which marked the origin of the Juche ideology with the birth of its founder – Kim Il Sung – namely ‘1912’. This developed had been discussed for a number of years within the Korean Workers’ Party. It was first suggested by former Foreign Minister Choi Duk- sin in a letter to Kim Il Sung in 1988, although the idea had been informally discussed since 1986. Following the passing of Kim Il Sung ion the 8.7.1994, the idea took on a greater strength and was met with general agreement. As a means to continuously remember the founder of the North Korean State, his victory over US aggression, and his ability to build a Socialist State with Korean characteristics, it was thought a progressive move for the DPRK to instigate a dual-calendar system. The Juche Calendar begins with 1912 being ‘Year 1’. Given that Kim Il Sung was born on the 15.4.1912, and that the DPRK was founded on the 9.9.1948 (‘Year 37’ of the Juche Calendar), the year 1997 was designated ‘Year 86’ of the Juche Calendar. The Juche Calendar exists side by side with the Gregorian Calendar, but is considered more important. In the DPRK today, the date would be written like this: Juche 108 (2019).
