Instead, the Buddha reiterated that different types consciousness arises out of specific material conditions, and that without the presence of these specific material conditions, the different types of consciousness do not arise. Like the Noble Peace Prize winner – the 14th Dalai Lama – who continuously advocates violence in China whilst calling for peace in the West, Aung San Suu Kyi – also a Noble Prize Winner – appears to be condoning governmental and ethnic violence against the Rohingya minority in Myanmar, whilst ‘ignoring’ calls from both within and outside of Myanmar, condemning that country’s treatment of the Rohingya.
