This means that the ‘cause’ of his death cannot be known for sure, or at least be ascertained in accordance with scientific standards. All assertions about his death, therefore, are pure speculation.

When the conquering Red Army entered the territory of West Ukraine in 1943-1944 – they discovered a hardcore of non-surrendered Nazi German Officers leading highly motivated ‘Catholic’ Ukrainians – armed with weapons secured from the US and UK. Joseph Stalin stated that as the USSR was ‘allies’ with these two countries, the Red Army was to ‘ignore’ the implication of this discovering and continue its mission of pursuing the retreating Nazi German Military Forces back to Berlin. Instead, the Special Forces of the NKVD were moved into position to fight what became known as an ‘insurgency.’ The fighting was brutal, debilitating but necessary).

My maternal grandmother -Winnifred Gibson (1918-1999) – worked as the Manager of the NAAFI in RAMC Holton Park [Wheatley] Military Hospital in post-WWII East Oxfordshire.
Grunya Sukhareva (Груня Сухарева) [1891-1981] – Forgotten Soviet Pioneer of ‘Autism’ Research (1925)
During her lifetime, Sukhareva opened such schools all over the country. However, its influence and authority did not go beyond Soviet borders, which was the result of political and language barriers. Only a small part of the Soviet research of that time was translated into other languages, very often it was German rather than English. Although her work of 1925 was translated into German the following year, the translation was unsuccessful, even the name of the author of the work was distorted as “Ssuchareva”. The work was translated into English only in 1996, 15 years after Sukhareva’s death, when Sula Wolff, a British psychiatrist, stumbled upon it.
