This year’s observance aimed to raise public awareness and intensify efforts to prevent human trafficking, emphasizing the role of safe and legal migration in protecting vulnerable populations.

Human trafficking continues to evolve, with traffickers adopting new and increasingly deceptive methods to exploit victims particularly women and children. Current data shows that one in three victims worldwide is a child, with girls being disproportionately affected. Fraud, manipulation, and coercion remain common tools used by traffickers to lure victims into exploitation.

In response, public education remains a cornerstone of prevention. Awareness campaigns help communities especially women, children, and at risk groups recognize and avoid trafficking schemes. These initiatives are essential in building informed and resilient communities that can resist exploitation.

South Africa: Health Workers Protest Israel’s Weaponization of Hunger in Gaza! (10.8.2025)

Earlier, Philippe Lazzarini, commissioner-general of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, called on Israel to allow the UN and its partners to carry out their work unhindered.

“Before the spread of famine, community-based distribution centres, supported by partners, provided food and assistance to 2 million people, spread across the Gaza Strip. Five months on the ongoing attempts to replace the UN-coordinated response by four Israeli militarized distribution points, hunger has become the latest killer in Gaza,” he wrote on social media X.

According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, more than 60,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks, and 150,000 have been injured.

ABC and other newspapers reported that a mechanical sweeping machine had caught fire in the site.

The site was built as a mosque — on the site of an earlier church — between the 8th and 10th centuries by the southern city’s then Muslim ruler, Abd ar-Rahman, an emir of the Umayyad dynasty.

After Christians reconquered Spain in the 13th century under King Ferdinand III of Castile, it was converted into a cathedral and architectural alterations were made over following centuries.

UNESCO designated the building a World Heritage Site in 1984, calling it “an architectural hybrid that joins together many of the artistic values of East and West and includes elements hitherto unheard-of in Islamic religious architecture, including the use of double arches.”

Fifty-years ago – the far-right targeted mixed-race relationships, five hundred years before that it was witches, and so on and so forth. Far-right groups are not the Police, not the medical fraternity, and not the Courts. These groups of voluntary association possess no legal or lawful power whatsoever, and do not need to vet anyone. No one should pass their personal details to these groups – they are morally and intellectually unsound. The leaders know, quite possibly from their own pasts, that the fascist movement is riddled with sex offenders! Do not let your children any where near these people. Imagine pretending to be a “Police Force” just to stop the degenerate reality of your own membership from becoming publicly known! Nazis and their ilk are sexual deviants – or potential sexual deviants. Understand this and act accordingly.

The poor, Black, White, Brown, or Yellow – are all being treated with the same level of brutal oppression. No wonder the bourgeoisie hates the DPRK so much – it builds ultra-modern flats and houses – and then gives them out “free” to its own population. Although anyone can live in the DPRK, there is no mass immigration designed to serve the needs of predatory capitalism! As I have said before, voluntary “Internationalism” is not the same as enforced “Multiculturalism”. It is not Rushanara Ali’s ethnicity that is the cause of this (Islam rejects usury), but rather her class. The point is that non-White British people can easily make money by buying property and then renting it out to whomever they choose – thus bypassing the usual barriers of racism which keeps them “shut-out” of mainstream British society. There was a time when the Guardian would have reported on this using a vigorous left-leaning dialectic. Those days are long gone.

US: 60 Years Later, Voting Rights Act Protections for Minority Voters Face New Threats! (7.8.2025)

Contrary to decades of precedent, Republican state officials in at least 15 states contend that private individuals and groups do not have the right to sue to enforce Section 2 because they are not explicitly named in the landmark law’s text. Only the head of the Justice Department, they argue, can bring this kind of lawsuit.

The issue is at the heart of a North Dakota legislative redistricting case that was brought by two tribal nations. A federal appeals court ruled against the Native American voters, and the case may be up for a full review soon at the Supreme Court. The justices may also be preparing to take up a broader question about the constitutionality of Section 2 protections, based on an order last week for legal briefs in a Louisiana congressional redistricting case originally filed by Black voters.
