Above is my esteemed mother – Diane Wyles – and you can see what looks like an “Asian” influence – in this instance perhaps distantly linked to the squaws of Lakota Sioux – who defeated Custer at the Little Big Horn (it’s a long story). The Lakota women cut holes in the dead Custer’s ears – so that in his next life he would “listen”. Who knows for sure? My mother today is in her late 70s and very much the victim of an uncaring and collapsing British State. Her body is ageing and fragile but her spirit is strong.

Meanwhile, my sister Rachel (and Paul – her husband) – acquired this magnificent commemorative coin recording the Coronation of King Charles III (in 2023). They gave it as a gift to our daughters – Kai-Lin and Mei-An. This will be kept in the collection of semi-precious bits and pieces we are building for them to inherit in the future. Whilst stopping in a an Aldi car-park near Paignton we saw an old Land Rover which people were saying belongs to the Heavyweight Boxing Champion – Tyson Fury!
