Silversea Onboard Animal Policy
As a retired “Big Game Hunter” of some 50-years ago now – I was enthralled to see a fine pair of elephants (good ivory – strong stature) featured on the Silversea online website – next to the description of the cruise-ship entertainment and various other distractions (including a breeding-pair of Polar Bears – I believe). May I take this opportunity to enquire as to what is the policy for animals being onboard? Although I am a little out-of-date, I am told the odd ship might possess a parrot to keep the children engaged – but am musing as to whether the new cruise-ships – being as spacious as they are – could also contain some type of Zoo?

We would like to inform you that only service animals are permitted onboard, and prior approval must be obtained from our team to accommodate them. The animals featured online are part of our shore excursions, where guests disembark the ship to explore beautiful destinations, encounter wildlife, and immerse themselves in cultural experiences.
If you are interested in observing specific animals, we can assist in identifying voyages that travel to regions where these creatures may be spotted in their natural habitats. However, please understand that sightings cannot be guaranteed, as these are wild animals living freely in their environment, and we are merely visitors to their world.
