This is certainly not the Sceptred Isle of yore. Twerton is a very poor part of Bath – a place in Somerset famous for being a Roman colony – and which is very rich due to world-wide tourism. From around the four-minute mark onwards – you will hear a local resident (“Bryn”) from Twerton (an impoverished part of affluent Bath) talking about bodily functions, Mussolini, shoddy social housing, Local Authority and Judicial corruption:
“There was a Bus Stop outside my window – and a Paedo living next-door!”
This is one of the most engaging and intellectually stimulating videos I have seen in a very long time! The Bourgeoisie control the means of production and occupy all the positions of political power. When the workers complain about this – they are “punished” for daring to speak-out! One tactic the Local Councils use to assist the tyranny of private land-lords (in this case the Italian-owned “Curo” Social Housing Business active in the area) is to have disputed properties declared “unfit for habitation” whilst their tenants-owners are still occupying the buildings.
Eviction and/or demolition procedures then follow – usually involving the Courts, Social Services and the Police. Once tenants (or even “Owners”) are out of the properties – quite often the Local Council hand-back the propertys to the Landlords and STOP all punitive action – as if the condemned buildings have suddenly repaired themselves! I know this because it happened to my parents – who live in Torquay (the condemned property they left still stands today – six-years later – only now occupied by the Land-lord). The rule of law only matters when the Local Authorities want us to do something – the rule of law is quietly ignored when it clashes with the corrupt will of the rich!
