Brooklands Motorworks & Museum
We originally visited this site with the intention of only finding the London Bus Museum, but were pleasantly surprised to find a field full of iconic aeroplanes, and various warehouses containing motor cas, motor cycles and bicycles, as well testing centres, racing tracks, and examples of old petrol garages – where attendants used to pump the petrol and take payment without drivers leaving their vehicles. This place covers a large area that can take all day to cover, and probably more than one visit. When it was funtional, this site produced aeroplanes (icluding Condorde), as well as adavanced motor cars (used in racing), motor cycles and bicycles. During WWII the facilities were used to develop warplanes and bombing equipment.
