Observer: Oxfod University – Vulgar “Americanisation” and Excesses of “Predatory Capitalism” Must Stop! (10.3.2025)

“I have lost my work, been ostracised by colleagues and had no settlement from the university, no apology, no admission that the judgment has any effect on anyone else – although of course it does,” she said.

She added: “Universities tend to always ask for NDAs in these employment cases, but I will be resisting that because I do not see why a settlement should be dependent on my silence.” The Observer revealed last year that two-thirds of core tutorial teaching at Oxford is done by academics on what the University and College Union calls “Deliveroo-style” hourly-paid roles or precarious fixed-term contracts.

Jolly said she initially thought that the “sham contracts” she and Abrams had were unusual. “But we talked to young academics and realised no one could get a mortgage and people were stuck in this totally insecure situation for years.” It was an “open secret” the two women decided they had an obligation to expose.

After their court victory, Law for Change, the charitable litigation fund which supported the pair, said the case would secure better contract rights for lecturers at Oxford, but also help others working on “exploitative contracts” right across academia.

China: Medical Professional Provides Crucial Lifeline to Those Living in Countryside! (10.3.2025)

According to the national census in 2020, the proportion of people aged 60 and above in rural areas was 23.8 percent, nearly 8 percentage points higher than that in urban areas.

Since 2021, China has been focusing on adjusting its poverty alleviation measures to align with the goal of rural vitalization, while also strengthening the provision of basic healthcare in rural areas.

The National Health Commission, along with four other government departments, launched a plan in April last year to nurture college-educated rural doctors, and nearly 7,500 graduates have been hired.

Black Dr Who

UK: A Black Dr Who Requires a Black Script-Writer! (4.3.2025)

I do not like the new Shogun series as many of the lead-roles are played by Western-born Asian women – who “pretend” to be ethnically Japanese (again the script-writers are White). Japanese-born women are “Japanese” – they do not have to hide their “Americanness” to play a stereotypical part (usually the insane and deceptive temptress). I do not agree with the fascists – who hate everyone who possesses a different colour skin – but I do draw the line at White people thinking they can talk for non-White people. This is not an appropriate way of doing things. I do not like Nccuti Gatwa’s Dr Who because I can see clearly the dissonance between his “Blackness” and the “Whiteness” of the pen of RTD!

Betsy & Gene in Happy Days!

Hackman Latest – Santa Fe Police Call-In “Dog Voice Therspists” to Crack Case! (5.3.2025)

The Police have engaged Dog Voice Therspists – experts in a type of K-9 body and sign language – to communicate with the two surviving dogs to see if any information can be gleamed from their memory of events. It is early days and the process is slow – as it appears that the dogs belonged to Betsy – and prefer to communicate in Hawaiian-Japanese. The two experts currently available specialise in American-English and face an up-hill battle. The latest report suggests that both dogs assert that their grandparents do not know the grandparents of the translators – and therefore it would be impolite to share any intimate information regarding their owner – or the non-Japanese man she chose to live with. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

China’s Mars Rover Data Suggests Existence of Ancient Oceans on Mars! (3.3.2025)

If an ocean once existed in this region, climate changes could have trapped large amounts of water in the form of subsurface ice, which holds great potential for future Mars base water resources, significantly reducing the cost of construction and maintenance.

Fang emphasized that the ancient oceanic sediments preserve records of Mars’ climatic history. Studying these sediments could help people understand how the planet transitioned from a warm, wet world to a cold, arid one. This knowledge could guide efforts to terraform Mars into a long-term sustainable human habitation, according to Fang.

Fang mentioned that Zhurong landed in the southern part of Utopia Planitia in mid-May 2021. It is equipped with a subsurface penetrating radar to explore underground structures and potential water ice deposits.

Venezuela: 80th Anniversary – Victory of Stalingrad Remembered! (9.2.2025)

In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, together with our Venezuelan friends from Valencia, we pay tribute to the heroes who fought for the freedom of the world against the threat of fascism. We are glad that, thanks to the friendship between Volgograd and Valencia, this significant plaque has been installed, allowing the inhabitants of the city to pay tribute to the heroism of the defenders of freedom.
