Social media has the characteristic of automatically presenting information that is in line with the interests of the user. Therefore, users may miss a lot of information that is not in line with their interests, Asahi Shimbun reported.
Over 80 percent of the survey respondents expressed concerns about the impact of disinformation on elections and libel against others.
When asked “Do you think it is better to have different views on politics and society presented to you?” 69 percent said “yes,” while 22 percent replied “no.”
Regarding possible revisions of war-renouncing Article 9 of the Constitution, 61 percent said it should be left intact, while 32 percent were in favour of changes.
