The point is that despite his working-class background and Communist ideals, Richard Burton became such a great star that it was difficult for the capitalist establishment to persecute him, or deny him a profession (as happened to Paul Robeson).
The British working class should work to expose Churchill’s anti-Socialist attitudes and support all non-White people in their condemnation of his racist attitudes.
It must also be remembered that the Scottish Welfare System is still funded from Westminster, out of the pockets of the British tax-payer, despite the Scots acting as if they are financially independent. The fact remains that without ‘English’ tax-payers, the Scots could not afford their own Welfare bill.
The UK is diverse and multicultural not only by choice, but also because of its unique history.
