Krispy Kreme - Shannon Corner 2024

Krispy Kreme: I’ve Just Entered the Twilight Zone…! (28.9.2024)

This coffee was worse than the cheapest economy coffee I have been given on cheap airlines – or when eating in greasy-spoon cafes. My doughnut was supposed to contain raspberry jam as a filling – but I was left trying to eat a large ball of badly cooked dough – (empty of any filling) until I reached the extremity of one side. Then a slither of raspberry jam-syrup presented itself (about the size of a match-stick) – but I had to wash-down this monstrosity with a cup of f’ckning awful coffee! My eldest daughter – Mei-An – refused to finish a milkshake which tasted of nothing whatsoever – and seemed to be made merely cold e-numbers in a cup! A cup of non-descript chemicals, no less. Still, we put a brave face on it – as if we were in the “Blitz” – and the Nazi German bombing will not break our spirit of resistance! This was a thoroughly weird and mystifying experience considering how much this US firm charges us – British people – to frequent their premises and taste their wares! Obviously, I am a man of considerably compromise. Should a Krispy Kreme Executive feel compelled to offer my family a voucher of some kind – then I would be more than willing to accept this gift and moderate my tome! I will not hold my breath…

South Devon Railway: Buckfastleigh Station & Steam Train! (1.8.2024)

A Summer Fayre is currently being held within the grounds of Buckfast Abbey – administered by the Church. The priests of the Catholic Church have worked-out a way to introduce a pay-wall which benefits their greed whilst seemingly acting in accordance with the wishes of the monks. Yes – the Catholic Church only cares for greed, political dominance and temporal power. and this is why the Catholic Church has started charging for parking, an initiative enforced by specially hired night-club Bouncers who stand menacingly at the gates – demanding to “see” the tickets – proving the £6 parking fee had been paid! This dichotomy exemplifies the difference which exists between the Christian Church and Christian monastic establishment. The priests want money (as do the lay-people who set-up their stalls) – the monks (who could not be seen anywhere) – want inner tranquillity and outer peace!

Russia & DPRK Unite Against Western-Backed Fascism!

DPRK: President Putin Begins State Visit to People’s Korea! (20.6.2024)

Putin’s visit to the DPRK at a remarkable time, when the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the DPRK and Russia have surely entered the course of new comprehensive development, is of great importance in reliably promoting the strategic and future-oriented development of the bilateral relations consolidated in the trials of history generation after generation and from one century to the next and powerfully propelling the cause of building powerful countries, a desire common to the peoples of the two countries.

St Albans Abeey - Grounds

St Albans Abbey: Clock-Tower & Exterior Structure! (29.5.2024)

Ordinary peasants and aristocracy would get out of bed in the morning, work, eat, rest and go to bed at night according to the dictates of the Roman Catholic Church – the monasteries of which usually followed the Rule of St Benedict – or some similar Rule. Ordinary people did not have to learn how to tell the time – as the monastic orders told them what to do and when to d it. Following the “Dissolution” – secular society had to build their own clocks and learn to tell the time for themselves. This is how the measuring of “time” was rescued from the control of the Church. After 1539 – time no longer served God – but rather the lay-society that paid for and possessed the technical skills to construct the clocks! The policies of King Henry VIII – as mad as he may or may not have been (he had around 70,000 men and women hanged during his reign) – ushered the “modern” Britain that we now live within. I doubt, however, that Henry would have envisioned the end of absolute monarchy or the trivialising of the Church!
