BMA-UK: Solidarity with Migrants – Explained! (23.1.2025)

When they arrived, nobody wanted to help. They had to walk the streets for two-days in the Oxford area until a Police Constable directed them to a local school. Here, they were given food and a bed on the floor of a school hall. Eventually, a local family let them live in a small cottage – where they slowly developed a new life. My grandfather joined the Royal Navy Patrol Service (RNPS) and fought in the North Atlantic fighting in-part alongside the USSR. My grand-uncle joined the Coldstream Guards and guard Buckingham Palace for a time. At the beginning, local Oxford people did not like the Cockney accents of my family – but they soon got use to it. My family eventually got jobs in the local area, joined Unions, and integrated into the local community. This is why I was born in Oxford. I am the product of displacement due to war – albeit within my own country. Today, the bourgeoisie loves to make international “war” as a business option that generates billions of dollars each year.

This new act of aggression by the United States government against the Cuban people shows, once again, the true, cruel, merciless objective of these and so many other measures of siege and suffocation, which are applied against Cuba for the purpose of domination. It is a reaction of impotence in the face of the inability to bend our will and in the face of the respect, sympathy and support that the Revolution inspires among the peoples of the world.

The economic blockade, its reinforcement and the new aggressive measures will continue to weigh, with a very damaging effect, on our economy, the standard of living, the potential for development and the legitimate dreams of justice and well-being of the Cuban people, as has been the case in recent years.

Gaza: Communist Party of Palestine Statement! (21.1.2025)

These military movements aim to strengthen American hegemony in the region at the expense of the peoples of the Arab region and their aspirations for freedom, independence and separation from imperialist control. If the agreement is implemented, our Palestinian people will find themselves facing a new entitlement in the West Bank, where they will have to defend their existence and rights against the policies of the occupation and the fascist, murderous settler gangs. The large and violent attack on Palestinian villages by these murderers is the greatest evidence of the upcoming challenges. The Palestinian masses in Gaza and the West Bank will remain in a permanent confrontation with the occupation to preserve their dignity and survival, which requires a unified Palestinian position against any form of normalization with the Zionist occupation and confronting its plans and attacks.

UN Began With Good Intentions!

Russia: USSR and [1945] Founding of the UN 80 Years Ago! (21.1.2025)

The creation of the United Nations was the result of the Great Victory in World War II, which was achieved thanks to an unparalleled feat performed by Soviet soldiers and millions of lives of citizens of the USSR, as well as of other states that were part of the Allied troops. The Soviet Union, the successor country to which Russia is now, was at the origins of the UN. It was in Moscow in the autumn of 1943 that the Allies, i.e. representatives of the USSR, the United Kingdom and the USA, agreed to establish an international organisation to protect future generations from another global conflict. Russia then took the leading role in the process, and the idea was refined and finally put into practice at the San Francisco Conference in 1945. The UN became the core of the system developed at the Yalta and Potsdam Conferences, with the UN Charter setting out the fundamental norms of international law that formed the Decalogue for the behaviour of states in the international arena.

China: Xinjiang Vows to Fight Against US Sanctions! (20.1.2025)

The mutual visits resulted in the signing of several economic and trade cooperation agreements, and imports and exports to the five Central Asian countries accounted for 67.9 percent of the region’s total trade last year.

In addition, as a result of many trips by delegations of foreign politicians, diplomats, reporters, scholars and entrepreneurs to Xinjiang, and a series of international symposiums in the autonomous region, international society has gained a better understanding of the real Xinjiang, Erkin Tuniyaz, the chairman, said.

“The region has also shown the world that it’s confident about further opening-up and having more friends and partners,” he said.

Meanwhile, the region has continued to improve its law-based routine counterterrorism and stability maintenance system. By taking firm legal measures to crack down on and prevent the activities of separatists, religious extremists and terrorists, Xinjiang is determined to resolutely nip the risks of violent terrorism in the bud and keep terrorist threats outside its borders, the chairman said.
