The submitting of the anti- DPRK “resolution”, which has become an inveterate evil practice of the EU, is nothing but a clearly politically-motivated plot utterly contrary to the purpose and principle of the UN Charter which stipulates respect for sovereignty and non-interference in other’s internal affairs and to the efforts of the UN member states to protect and promote human rights through dialogue and cooperation.

It is the core of the “resolution” of the EU to insist on the infringement upon sovereignty under the signboard of “protecting human rights”.

The DPRK permanent mission to the UN Office and International Organizations in Geneva brands the recent “resolution” submitting of the EU as a grave political provocation pursuant to the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK to bring down its social system, and vehemently denounces and rejects it.

Xinhua: US-backed “Summit for Democracy” Triggers Divisive Confrontation! (24.3.2024)

Washington’s bid to rally some countries against others, which has further entrenched ideological divisions, undermines efforts to foster genuine dialogue and cooperation among nations with different political systems.

Kwon said the “democracy summit” is being criticized as a divisive international conference to build a hegemonic international order with the United States at the centre. “The U.S. hegemonic action of weakening the function of the UN and leading a so-called ‘democracy summit’ is a hindrance to world peace.”

“By weaponizing democracy as a political tool,” said commentator Yirenkyi Jesse in an op-ed in The Standard, a leading daily newspaper in Kenya, “the United States seeks to assert its hegemonic dominance, dividing the world along arbitrary lines and sowing discord in its wake.”

It uses freedom of speech to practice double standards, creates a smokescreen and claims that other countries are spreading “false information,” while it publishes various distorted and discrediting reports based on false information to divert the attention of the international community from the misdeeds of the U.S.. On May 4, 2022, U.S. Senator Rand Paul spoke bluntly at a Senate hearing: “Do you know who the greatest propagator of disinformation in the history of the world is? The U.S. government.”

At the UNSC meetings on the Ukrainian and Syrian issues, etc., the U.S. failed to attain its sinister purpose because of a permanent member state’s exercise of its veto. So the U.S. held a plenary meeting of the UN General Assembly, at which it incited collective pressure while talking about the “irresponsibility”, and even cried out for depriving a permanent member state of its position as a permanent member state.

But the situation has changed due to the Middle East situation last year.

The indiscriminate military attacks of Israel are killing many Palestinian civilians even at this moment, and Gaza Strip has been turned into a slaughterhouse and living hell.

The international community is being stunned by such horrible humanitarian tragedy and even its allies are turning their backs on the U.S. patronizing Israel.

The fact Japan is currently (and deliberately) pumping nuclear waste into the South China Sea has much to do with the manner in which this mini-series has been received. This happens at a time when Japan continues to antagonise China by refusing to acknowledge internationally recognised boundaries – whilst not apologising for WWII atrocities! A positive US decreed media consensus has declared this piece of parody (and Eurocentric mimicry) to be universally a ‘great success’.

Built on the sea of blood of Indians, the U.S. staged over 114 big and small wars of aggression and more than 8 900 military interference actions for over 130 years until World War I, and expanded its territory by over ten times by annexing and subordinating other countries and nations.

After World War II, the U.S. has grown corpulent through many wars and military interference actions in the DPRK, Vietnam, Iraq, Syria and other parts of the world and maintained its privileged position.

Even in the present century when the unipolar world has been collapsing and a new, multi-polarized international order is being established, the U.S. is persistently pursuing its hegemonic and aggressive mode of existence and foreign policy, being obsessed with “overconfidence in its own strength”, and is constantly breaking the security and stability of the world.
