Tiverton: WWI Naval Gun [Lime Kiln Road] – Playing in the 1970s Was Very Different! (5.7.2025)

I was born in Oxford – but my parents moved to Tiverton (in East Devon) in 1970. I started school (Wilcombe) in 1972 (when 5-years old) – but changed to a school in Exeter in 1977. However, I have a memory of joining (after school) a group of classmates who “played” on a WWI Naval Gun situated on a public street (situated in Lime Kiln Road)! I have lived in Sutton (South-West Greater London) for over three-decades today – but recently – whilst picking-up my children from school in Cheam, I saw youths dressed in the uniforms of what is today termed the “Combined Cadet Force”, and the thought of myself once playing on a military gun (around 1977) bubbled-up in my mind (although publicly accessible – the gun in question was placed outside the Tiverton Sea Cadets Training Hall). In fact, after having experienced many interest things in my life (including four wonderful years based in Hereford during the 1980s), and having travelled around the world, I surprised myself with this memory and was not even sure it was real!

As improbable as it may seem, a number of deficient (White) Englishmen and Scotsmen live in Thailand – and yet are notorious racists who routinely express anti-migrant rhetoric on their social media platforms. By “anti-migrant” – I mean “non-White” migrants living in the UK. The lie is that all crime is committed by non-Whites – whilst the reality is that the in a White-majority country – the majority of the crime is committed by “Whites”. The problem is that the ignorant racists are quite happy to accept the rancid myths of racism instead of carrying-out research into the reality of society (and read “Das Kapital” written by Karl Marx). The far-right racist are quite happy with White migrants who hold Neo-Nazi viewpoints, such as the Poles, Ukrainians, Estonians and Romanians, etc, Neo-Nazis who are welcomed with open-arms even though they represent entirely alien (and unfamiliar) ethnic groups and cultures. Nanjing Bomb-Shelters Used in Heat-Wave!

China: Nanjing Opens 22 “Air-Raid Shelters” for Residents to Enjoy Leisure Time During Heat-Wave! (3.7.2025)

Imperial Japan invaded China between 1931-1945 – with history demarcating various points of this invasion as being specific. For instance, in December 1937, the Imperial Japanese Army turned its guns on the Nationalist-controlled Nanjing – the then capital-city of China. Although the West was not yet directly involved in the war against Imperial Japan, by and large the US and UK (amongst others) agitated against Japan in favour of China. This led to a number of air-raid shelters being constructed in the Nanjing area – designed for ordinary Chinese people to take cover when the Imperial Japanese Airforce began to blanket-bomb the civilian population of the city. Today, these shelters are maintained to a very high degree and are popular historical tourist attractions. Whereas the UK government has done NOTHING to assist the British population regarding the current heat-wave (Indeed, the UK Labour government sat in the air-conditioned Parliament and voted to cut the Benefits received by the old, disabled, and vulnerable throughout the country). This is an interesting juxtaposition between the predatory capitalism of the UK and the Socialism as practiced by Socialist China.

Detective Chief Superintendent James Dunkerley, the Head of Counter Terrorism Policing North East, said: “Robert, Stephen and Rosie Talland were part of a network of hatred which had encouraged violence and extreme right wing terrorism across Europe for decades.

“Robert Talland dismissed the group as an ‘old man’s drinking club’, but through the gigs and events they organised, they promoted music which glorified acts of murder to audiences which included young children. In doing so, they encouraged attitudes of hatred, intolerance and violence which have no place in our society.

“The verdicts today come after a lengthy and detailed investigation into the Talland family and their activities. Counter Terrorism Policing is committed to targeting the people who encourage racist violence by bringing them to justice.

British Scarecrows - Linked to Pagan Gods!

UK: Are Scarecrows Linked to Pagan Fertility Gods? (22.6.2025)

This may be due to the Celtic traditions developing within heavily forested areas prior to the arrival of the Romans – who cleared trees to build their straight roads. Romans also cleared forested areas to create farming fields – so open fields were “foreign” to the British Celts. The Druids are reported as detesting the Roman habit of destroying the sacred woods (the Druids and their Celtic Army were finally beaten by the Romans at the Battle of Anglesey circa 60 CE – the last time “magic” was known to have been used on a British battlefield). During these times, crops were planted within the safety of the forested-canopy – where the Gods of Fertility operated more or less unaffected by the wild birds. Wide, open fields were not yet accepted as “British”. It might have even been the case that Celtic farmers came to some arrangement with the wild birds – setting aside some food for them so that everyone got on without conflict. There was 800-years between the Romans (5th century CE) leaving and the plague creating the conditions that led to the development of the modern British Scarecrow (14th century CE).

UK: Unhinged Galloway “Invites” Cruise Missiles Through His Window! (19.6.2025)

Galloway now expresses a hyper-puritanic attitude but those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. His current wife is “30” his junior – meaning he was 30 when she was born. For many on the right of politics, as Galloway undoubtedly is today, this type of age-gap is viewed as degenerate in and of itself. Tantamount to deviancy of the highest kind. Perhaps the religious texts that Galloway extols today allow for this – but comparing himself to Dr Martin Luther King Jr, or indeed to “God” – has got to be the greatest outburst of egotism the ageing Galloway has ever trumpeted! If you watch the show carefully – providing you have the stomach – you will see how the guests are now made to read from scripts about how “great” Galloway is!
