Stephen Sene from Sene Pest Control said it was the oldest hive he had come across in "over seven years"

UK: Ten-Year Old [Active] Bee Hive Found in Leatherhead Leisure Centre! (30.9.2025)

Once thermal imaging confirmed that a large hive was between the walls, Mr Sene and a colleague began the process of safely removing the bees.

He explained: “We removed the queen bee first and placed her safely in a special bee cage.

“Then it’s a case of removing the worker bees and dismantling the comb, which took around a day to complete. The work must be done slowly to avoid causing the bees any undue stress or harm.”

Once removed, the bees were placed in quarantine for a couple of weeks to ensure that they were free from disease.

Mr Pope added: “We were sorry we had to disturb the hive after 10 years of peace, but we are grateful to Stephen and his expert team for their help.”

Senegal: China Offers Traditional Chinese Medicine Training! (1.6.2025)

Fall Amet, a rehabilitation physician from northern Senegal, drove six hours to attend the training. “Learning authentic TCM techniques is well worth the effort. I want to bring this knowledge back to my hometown so more people can benefit from the wisdom of Chinese medicine,” he said.

The Chinese medical team also introduced a special session on seasonal health preservation, based on the TCM philosophy of harmony between humans and nature. “This natural, preventive approach to health is very enlightening, especially for tackling seasonal diseases. It deserves wider promotion in Senegal,” said participant Diouf Marie Francoise.

Yang Yiguo, head of the 20th batch of the Chinese medical team, noted that under the Belt and Road Initiative, TCM is becoming a new bridge connecting Chinese and African people.

In addition to providing medical services and supplies, the Chinese medical team will offer more TCM training programs in Senegal to bring the benefits of TCM to more local people, he said.

Daoism: Archery in the Central Plains! (5.3.2024)

Indeed, as a distinct body of rituals – Confucianism is older – with Daoism developing later. The problem is that historical elements of both ideologies exist within China’s early history. These elements eventually diversified into specific and distinct schools of thought – that seem ‘different’ in practice (which they are) – whilst sharing similar or identical concepts. Term ‘道’ (Dao) exists in Confucian thought as well as in the musings of Laozi and Zhuangzi! Above is my short research paper on the ‘中’ (zhong1) ideogram in relation to archery and ‘hitting the target’.
