Preserving Rare Lao Elephants!

Laos: 50 Elephant Festival to be Held in Xayaboury! (30.1.2025)

The festival aims to preserve Laos’ dwindling elephant population, which is at risk of extinction, while inspiring support for their conservation and ensuring their cultural significance endures, Lao national TV reported on Thursday.

Each year, the festival attracts large crowds to Xayaboury, where visitors can witness the majestic elephants, trained and led by their mahouts.

This year, 50 elephants will participate in the festival, reflecting the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

The festival will kick off with a mini-marathon and elephant rides, followed by cultural performances. A street market will offer a variety of products from Laos and beyond.

Philosophy: The Public Thought Experiment – “Man or Bear”? (15.5.2024)

A prime example of an academic who does operate freedom of thought is Grover Furr. Like myself, he has examined and seen through the lies and distortions which the West uses to interpret the history of the Soviet Union and the purpose of the ideology of Socialism. This corrective has important implications for Cuba, Vietnam, China, North Korea, and Laos, as well as all those left-leaning regimes throughout the world (many operating in Central and South America). Developing a three-dimensional state of mind only comes about by the purposeful adopting of “thought exercises” (a type of role-playing) which allows the thought processes to expand into directions they would not necessarily extend into. In a very real sense, this is arguing for argument’s sake. Examples of this might include arguing for the ideology of Adolf Hitler, or make a case for the Zionist invasion, occupation and settlement of the entirety of Palestine. What is argued for must be “shocking” to those who have no choice but to conform and constructively act.

Greemway Gardens: Encountering the “Robin”! (29.12.2023)

Indeed, within the behaviour of these birds is the history of their interaction with humans and the surrounding the environment. Interestingly, there are photographs on display in the house that record the physical presence of family cats – but I suspect that as the house is so big and the grounds so extensive – these cats probably never ventured very far out of the house and into the gardens. Of course, Gee managed to find a cluster of bamboo shrubs probably planted by Agatha Christie – or at least one of her servants.
