The Re-Arranged Family Shrine - 2026

UK: The Family Shrine Re-Arranged for the Passing of My Father! (18.6.2026)

Even if no member of a Chinese family has not trained in a formal spiritual order – incense will be regularly lit, and fresh flowers and fruit will be added every so many days. Of course, some shrines are kept-up at a greater degree than others – but this does not matter in the end. A family shrine is a door-way between one plane and another. It is a two-way structure that permits a solemn respect to traverse from the material realm into the immaterial realm – and allows a positive spiritual reality to emanate from the immaterial plane to the material realm. Today, I talked to my deceased father – and I did this via a photograph that my mother took and printed-out for me probably around 2010. The photograph was taken in the front garden of our old home at 2 Torbay Road, Torquay Road, Torquay, Devon (the shyster landlord took over a hundred thousand pounds in rent between 2002-2018 before applying a no-fault eviction because we requested a repair be made). As this was 16-years ago – my father would have been around 68-years old at the time. I suppose my father was at the peak of his power as an elderly person! Tomorrow we will collectively lit incense. It is the next stage of respectful mourning.

I think that if religions gave-up their ridiculous claims to exclusivity – then the method of “looking within” could become a legitimate part of understanding the material world (albeit “subjectively”) and take its place alongside “objective” science. As matters stand, religious development tends to be unregulated and more or less ad hoc in its ability to produce legitimately transcendent beings. Such a being would declare the path he followed to be obsolete as he emerges thoroughly enlightened. Today, religions make stupid claims of non-existent (exclusive) knowledge – and limit their practitioners to religious dogma. It is for this reason of general ignorance and their siding with capitalism that Marxist-Leninism has a bleak view of religions in general. If religions truly abandoned the physical world they inhabit – then capitalism would be left firmly behind. Greed cannot be encouraged at source when transcendence demands a complete break with all fetters that would bind the practitioner to the mundane. The truly transcendent amongst us quietly disentangle their minds from the tortures of the physical world and humbly “ascend”. They do not do it for fame, money, or recognition. Indeed, for us mere mortals, we will be lucky if we receive an emancipating wave from them!

UK: My Father Radiating Peace & Love at the Point of Departure! (31.5.2026)

375. Control of the senses, contentment, restraint according to the code of monastic discipline — these form the basis of holy life here for the wise monk.

376. Let him associate with friends who are noble, energetic, and pure in life, let him be cordial and refined in conduct. Thus, full of joy, he will make an end of suffering.

377. Just as the jasmine creeper sheds its withered flowers, even so, O monks, should you totally shed lust and hatred!

378. The monk who is calm in body, calm in speech, calm in thought, well-composed and who has spewn out worldliness — he, truly, is called serene.

379. By oneself one must censure oneself and scrutinize oneself . The self-guarded and mindful monk will always live in happiness.

380. One is one’s own protector, one is one’s own refuge. Therefore, one should control oneself, even as a trader controls a noble steed.

381. Full of joy, full of faith in the Teaching of the Buddha, the monk attains the Peaceful State, the bliss of cessation of conditioned things.

382. That monk who while young devotes himself to the Teaching of the Buddha illumines this world like the moon freed from clouds.

Surrey Mobile Church

Surrey: Mobile-Temporary Church! (30.5.2026)

Sometimes, however, these mobile structures are retained as they are considered reasonably humble and simple. As the font is very heavy – usually made of solid stone – it resides outside the Church structure. The font may well be too-heavy for the interior wooden structure. Churches, of course, do not have to conform to the (European) Medieval design – as can be seen in Ethiopia, Turkey, and elsewhere. Many early Churches were simple gathering points for isolated monastics to come together (out of their solitary meditation cells – quite often in the desert)) and communally worship. In-short, a Church is a focal-point whereby those in the material realm can commune with the unseen spiritual realm. Early Christianity was very similar to Buddhism – but its theology changed when a certain faction gained Roman State support (termed the “Catholics” or “Universalists”) which then set about destroying its own past – and any Christian sect which advocated worldly transcendence – or disagreed with the /church attaining worldly power and wealth.

Peter Wyles - 84 Today!

UK: My Father – Peter Wyles – is 84-Years Old Today! (28.5.2026)

My Dad was born on May 28th, 1941 to his Irish mother (Gladys Kllmurrey) – in an Army Barracks in Lincolnshire. His father was training at the time for D-Day. The thinking was that if the war went on for decades – my Dad would grow up, reproduce and become a soldier – and do on. Today, despite having to exist in an uncaring system – my father has made it to “84”- despite many set-backs and hurdles. At this age – every day is precious. Still, we look forward with strength and determination. We will face the arrows and slingshots of destiny – and we will not flinch.
