I First Logged-On the Internet in 2000!

UK: Ask Jeeves Was My First Search-Engine” (4.5.2026)

My mother – Diane Wyles – gave each of her children a “Web TV” to quickly get us all online. This was a small metal box that we connected to the TV which allowed the internet to appear on the screen. We then wrote messages and asked questions via a remote-controlled keypad. All this seemed very advanced at the time – even though the dial-up was analogue and only one person could be online at a time. This was before Google cornered the market and before the bourgeoisie had developed the technology for capitalism to colonise the net and the media to swamp it with false news and disinformation. In just 25-years we lost the freedom the net gave us to defy our own national governments. The status quo has now been re-affirmed and it is business as usual.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 Search Update! (9.3.2026)

The Air Accident Investigation Bureau said in a statement that a seabed search conducted by marine robotics company Ocean Infinity between March 2025 and January 2026 surveyed thousands of square kilometres of ocean floor but has not produced any confirmed findings of the aircraft wreckage.

Malaysia gave the nod to the Texas-based company last year to renew the search for Flight 370 under a “no-find, no-fee” contract at a new 15,000-square-kilometre (5,800-square-mile) site in the southern Indian Ocean where it was believed to have crashed. Ocean Infinity will be paid $70 million only if wreckage is discovered.

The search was carried out for 28 days in two phases — March 25–28 last year and Dec 31, 2025, to Jan 23 this year, covering about 7,571 square kilometres (2,923 square miles) of seabed, the bureau said. Weather periodically disrupted operations, it said.

Health Bureau is covering all medical, medication and rehabilitation costs for victims.

The blaze had claimed 159 lives by 2 p.m. on Wednesday, with 31 people still missing, the Hong Kong Police Force said at a press briefing earlier Wednesday. A total of 140 bodies had been identified, said the police, adding that the victims were aged between 1 and 97 years old.

The police have completed the search for remains inside all seven fire-hit buildings, and will expand the search to the vicinity to check for remains under scaffolding that collapsed in the flames.

Tehran: Brave Red Crescent “Rescue Dog” Wounded by Zionist Aggression! (23.6.2025)

During the Relief and Rescue Operations following today’s brutal (and “illegal”) attacks by the US-backed Zionist regime inflicted upon Tehran – one of the Red Crescent Society’s “Search & Rescue Dogs” was injured by enemy action – in the line of duty! This highly-trained dog, which plays a key role in finding people trapped under rubble and collapsed buildings, remained with the Rescuers until the last moment, despite his severe injuries. He never once complained – or left his station – as those around him were killed and maimed!

Workers To Be Served By Internet!

China: Internet Search-Engine Algorithm to Ensure Workers’ Rights! (26.11.2024)

The statement emphasized the need to improve technical means to detect and identify fake accounts and malicious ranking manipulations, strictly regulating illegal activities that exploit ranking rules to manipulate lists and hype topics.

Besides content and information distribution, the campaign also focuses on the rights of workers and consumers involved in internet services.

The commission’s statement highlighted the need to prevent internet platforms from blindly pursuing profits at the expense of workers providing services.

The number of those workers surpassed 84 million in China as of 2023, according to the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. This group of workers includes food delivery riders, ride-hailing drivers and couriers.

Among them, there are 13 million food delivery riders. In recent years, these riders have often violated traffic rules to deliver food as quickly as possible, due to the requirement by food delivery platforms to deliver orders within a specified time, or face wage deductions.

The statement stressed the importance of preventing platforms from excessively reducing delivery times, which leads to more frequent delivery delays, traffic violations and accidents.

Flight MH370 Awaits Detection!

Flight MH370: 10 Years On – Malaysia May Renew Search! (9.3.2024)

In July 2018, the Malaysian government released a more than 800-page report, noting that the evidence led to an “incontrovertible conclusion” that it was under manual control, and it was deliberately flown out into the Indian Ocean. Until the wreckage is found, it will remain unknown as to who was at the controls of the Boeing 777 during that time. Loke, who was also transport minister at the time, described it as the final and full report.

On condition

Nearly four years after the release of the report, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said during a March 4 state visit to Australia that he would be “happy to reopen” the search for the missing MH370 “if there is compelling evidence”.
