Italy: Study Finds Winged Lion of Venice Has “Chinese” Origin! (11.9.2025)

It would seem that between the Tang and (Islamic) Yuan Dynasties (around six-hundred years) this Lion sat dutifully outside a temple (or a tomb) – before being transported to the West and extensively “altered” to suit Western sensitivities – although it is highly likely that very few Europeans knew what an African (or “Indian”) lion actually looked like. Most Chinese lions I have seen are sat-down and I have never seen such an object stood-up on all fours. It would be interesting to see what the Lion in question looked like before the alterations. Finally, it is interesting that the British author (and former Submarine Commander in the Royal Navy) – Gavin Menzies (1937-2020) – wrote a book entitled “1434: The Year a Chinese Fleet Sailed to Italy and Ignited the Renaissance” (2008). He discusses the Chinese delegation that met with Pope Eugenius IV in Florence (1434) – and suggests that China had some type of diplomatic connection with the City States (which included Venice). Those who criticise Menzies’ work – are the same people who would never have allowed for idea that St Mark’s Lion could be of a “Chinese” origin. Given that this Lion arrived in Venice around 1264 – this Chinese Mission would have occurred only 166-years later.

The soft robot is tested in the sea. (CHINA DAILY)

China: Breakthrough Enhances Deep-Sea Research! (6.9.2025)

Their latest research, titled “Plasticized electrohydraulic robot autopilots in the deep sea”, was published in the journal Science Robotics. Conducted in collaboration with Zhejiang University and the China Ship Scientific Research Centre, the research team has developed an electrohydraulic-driven soft robot which has been applied to deep-sea exploration.

As the largest unexplored frontier on the earth, the deep sea holds the key to understanding life origins, resource exploration and climate evolution.

However, scientists face significant challenges due to extreme conditions such as high pressure and low temperatures during their exploration. There is also another obstacle: balancing the high costs of exploration and equipment reliability with the protection of fragile deep-sea ecosystems, according to the research team.

Report: Ghost Hunting in North Devon! (29.8.2025)

With most of the lights off by 11pm, I sat on my religious chair (the Church dates back to the 14th century – and so does the chair). I cleared my mind and immersed myself into the ancient nature of the stone-work. The stone was cool to the touch – I went bare-foot to ground myself – and felt the calm structure of the place. No fear, no deception, and nothing to worry about, Although I neither support or oppose theology – I sensed the spiritual feel that all the attendees developed and projected into rge physical structure of the place. In many places in the UK, the Christians deliberately built their Churches on already existing Pagan sites of ancient spirituality – with nothing to do with a Christian god. The mistake that Christians make is that their own mind creates the religion they believe in – but they mistakenly believe that their religion exists “outside” their heads, independent of the mind that generates it. The perception is inverted and the wrong way around.

Science Traces Oxygen Development on Earth!

China: Scientists Trace Earth’s 2-Billion-Year Oxygen Rise! (28.8.2025)

The study, led by China’s Chengdu University of Technology in collaboration with the UWA and published in Nature, showed that following the Neoproterozoic oxygen rise, Earth’s largely oxygen-poor oceans experienced periodic oxidation pulses.

The events resulted in synchronized carbon, sulphur and oxygen isotope shifts over hundreds of millions of years, which suggests that increasing atmospheric oxygen repeatedly triggered transient ocean oxidation.

“The findings provide an environmental framework for understanding the origin and evolution of life on Earth, as well as the formation of mineral deposits and petroleum resources,” Dodd said.

China Manned Moon-Shot!

China: Socialist Manned Lunar-Landing Set for 2030! (8.8.2025)

The lunar lander, named Lanyue, which means embracing the moon, consists of both a landing module and a propulsion module. It is a newly developed spacecraft designed to support crewed missions to and from the moon.

It will be used to transport two cosmonauts between the lunar orbit and the lunar surface — and will carry a lunar rover and other scientific payloads. After landing, the lander will serve as a life-support centre, an energy centre and a data centre, offering assistance and serving as a base for the cosmonauts’ stay and activities on the moon’s surface.

Noting that the test was complex with a long cycle and technical challenges, the space agency said the success represents a breakthrough in research and development in terms of China’s manned lunar exploration programme.
