Analysts say the administration’s immigration crackdown is widening from undocumented migrants and students to nearly all legal visa holders. This could leave many at risk of losing their status.

New Pew Research Centre data shows the U.S. immigrant population fell by almost 1.5 million in the first half of this year, the first net decline in decades. The total dropped to 51.9 million in June from 53.3 million in January. Researchers attribute the decline largely to stricter policies, which have led to both deportations and voluntary departures.

The White House argues that fewer immigrants ease pressure on public services and help the labour market recover. But experts warn that the long-term effects may be damaging, with labour shortages in key industries such as agriculture, healthcare and services. With the retirement of the baby boomer generation, they note, U.S. reliance on immigrant labour could actually deepen.

In response, public education remains a cornerstone of prevention. Awareness campaigns help communities especially women, children, and at risk groups recognize and avoid trafficking schemes. These initiatives are essential in building informed and resilient communities that can resist exploitation.

The United States has caused total chaos, poverty and hardship by the stupid and pointless sanctions it has placed against Russia – which have had no effect upon Russia – but has rather destroyed the stability of the European economy. All this the Americans do in support of the Neo-Nazi regime it has imported in the Ukraine – the once proud spear-head of the Soviet Red Army – and the area within which the Nazi Germans (and their allies) carried-out the greatest amount of destruction during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945).

UN Security Council: Resolution Adopted Protecting Humanitarian Personnel! (25.5.2024)

The resolution condemns disinformation, information manipulation, and incitement to violence against humanitarian personnel and their premises and assets, and expresses concern over the impact of misinformation on such personnel.

It urges states to conduct full, prompt, impartial and effective investigations within their jurisdiction of violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law committed against humanitarian personnel and their premises and assets and where appropriate, take action against those responsible in accordance with domestic and international law.

It further urges states to prosecute persons allegedly responsible for serious violations of international humanitarian law and to cooperate with domestic, regional and international courts and tribunals.
