The film footage of Xu Xiaodong (against Master Lei Gong), shows a man with no real mixed martial arts skills – who could have been easily defeated with groin-kicking or throat-punching, etc, and whose mental state is often described as ‘mad’ even by himself!
Xu Xiaodong and his childish antics have been greeted with loud applause amongst the predominantly young White males that dominate the MMA sport, appearing to confirm in their ignorant minds, that all their racial prejudices held against China are real and substantiated. What they do not tell you is that whenever a Western MMA fighter picks a fight in China, he is always beaten without fail, and there has never been a Westerner ever prevail in a fight in that country.
The use of ‘spirit technique’ (神功 – Shen Gong), may well have physically and psychologically ‘shocked’ Xu Xiaodong, with the obvious physical effects manifesting some days later. Certainly, for at least three days after the ‘fight’ Xu Xiaodong was acting irrationally, and saying all kinds of weird and unusual things.
Xu Xiaodong stated that Yi Long’s remarkable martial abilities stemmed from him taking steroids and other performance enhancing drugs!
