Russia: Soviet-Era Venera-8 [Venus] Probe – “Kosmos-482” – Falls into Indian Ocean! (10.5.2025)

The Soviet Space Programme had a tendency to send probes in supportive “pairs” (known as “Space Communism”). As the USSR was not interested in – or limited by – financial cost, the progressive technology generated through the use of Marxist-Leninist dialectics did not possess any material limitations premised upon monetary “profit”. Of course, modern Russia is “capitalist” and has not been able to replicate the innovation that came out of the Stalinist-era and the Soviet victory during WWII. Although the returning Soviet probe was launched in 1972 – the attitude is that “capitalist” Russia, if it had been able to retrieve the fallen probe, might well had benefitted from its decades-old technology! The owners of the new houses were deeply moved to receive the licenses for using houses and the builders extended warm congratulations, sharing the joy. Such happy images can be only witnessed in the fairyland of the great socialist family being brought into full bloom day by day in the era of the Workers’ Party.

The vast Hwasong area reverberated with the cheers and excited voices of the people enjoying at their windows the beautiful scene of Pyongyang where a new era of prosperity and cultural efflorescence is being ushered in.

“The new and wonderful street in the Hwasong area is a pride of our Pyongyang.”

“I admired the dwelling houses in Hwasong Street and Rimhung Street, but I can feel from here the magnificence of our Pyongyang which is developing beyond recognition every year and seem to see the future of a prosperous and powerful country.”

As the Chinese formation entered the parade ground, the Vietnamese audience rose to their feet and greeted them with enthusiastic applause.

Sutton Cemetery - Qingming 2025!

UK: Qingming (清明) [2025] – “Sweeping & Cleaning the Grave” of the Chinese Ancestors! (5.4.2025)

At both times of the year the graves are repaired and made new – whilst one or two of the favourite things are provided – such as a glass of brandy and a cigarette. Some Chinese families – although not ours – make paper clothing which is burnt at the graveside in Autumn – alongside “Spirit Money” – or pretend banknotes, etc. Others take real food which is placed on a table in hygienic containers – offered as an oblation – and consumed later. Our two daughters used clothes and cleaning sprays to remove the dirt and shine the stone exterior of the graves. The bright flowers are then cut to fit into the holders. We often bring a flag of China and Buddhist pictures and statues. Today, I also carried a Ch’an Dao Martial Arts Association badge and a pair of Nunchaku. We lit six incense-sticks – three for each grave – and bowed-down three-tips (clapping the hands three-times). We have been performing these rituals since the early 1990s in the UK.
