Palestinian Universities: “Solidarity Letter” – Sent to Students & Faculty in US Gaza Academic Institutions Encampments! (30.4.2024)

The situation in Palestine has reached increased genocidal levels, marked by the mass targeting of Palestinian life by killing and displacement; the destruction of social, cultural, and all educational institutions; and the aim to reduce Palestinians to bare life with no political and collective future, added the letter.

“You are leaders in the call for justice with your bodies on your university campuses and in the streets, speaking truth and justice loud and clear. You stand for the courage that is needed to take action strongly for justice and freedom and determinedly against systems of genocide and racism.”

“We know the risks you are taking in the face of the repressive measures that are taken against university spaces built on challenging the powers benefitting from silence.” Added the letter.

Palestine: Over 800 US, UK & EU Civil Servants Demand End of Support for Israel! (4.2.2024)

The officials say they privately expressed concerns about human rights abuses by Israel to leaders of their governments and institutions but have been ignored.

“Our governments’ current policies weaken their moral standing and undermine their ability to stand up for freedom, justice and human rights globally,” the statement says.

“There is a plausible risk that our governments’ policies are contributing to grave violations of international humanitarian law, war crimes and even ethnic cleansing or genocide.”

The signatories called on their governments to “stop asserting to the public that there is a strategic and defensible rationale behind the Israeli operation and that supporting it is in our countries’ interests.”

Seaman Arthur Gibson’s WWII Medals & MOD Entitlement Letter (1.12.2021)

His job was to keep the shipping lanes free of Nazi German mines (by shooting to sink them or explode with using mounted Lewis Machine Guns, or WWI 303 Lee Enfield or MK III Ross [303] Rifles), so that the Russian Arctic Convoys could deliver vital aid to the UK’s ally – the Soviet Union! As Arthur Gibson saw frontline service nearly everyday of his four-year service – this fact alone triggered a cascade of medals for time-served in the face of the enemy! I contacted the MOD recently to acquire an official letter confirming his medal entitlement. He would have been proud of his two granddaughters – Mei-An and Kai-Lin living in Sutton and helping me research his glorious past! Arthur Gibson was finally granted his medals on the 19th of September, 1950 – some five-years after the end of WWII – and after other conflicts were well under way around the world!
