The remains of 12 Chinese People’s Volunteers martyrs who lost their lives during the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953) were returned to China from the Republic of Korea (ROK) on Wednesday. A rock the size of a stout Jack Russell (a breed of dog in the UK – small, fierce, brave, loyal, and strong) – but weighing more or less the same as a Great Dane (another – but huge – breed of dog) – was mistaken by an Aussie as a “gold nugget”. Perhaps it’s not the rock that needs testing! Still, all he has been left with is a piece of worthless space debris that landed on Earth during 1951 (in June – the time of the Aussie Winter) – which turns-out to be the same age as the Earth is old – namely “4.6 million” years old!. I am reliably told by a medical colleague that Aussies are only “technically sober” during the first three months of their lives – when the motor-skills have not yet developed to lift the hand to the mouth. Gold is a lightweight and malleable mettle, which is rare, soft, and highly pliable. This meteorite, by way of comparison, is heavy, hard, and requires a Ford Cortina just to move it any significant distance.
After 1948 – this ethnic Korean movement was assisted by Socialist China. When the US caused the war of 1950-1953 – the USSR provided the Red Airforce to guard the skies over North Korea and Soviet Technicians to aid the mechanical development of the North Korean military. Meanwhile, Socialist China organised millions of “Chinese People Volunteers” (CPV) who comprised the Land Forces of the “Internationalist” effort to free North (and South) Korea from US domination. The fact that the CPV had very little modern or advanced military equipment – and yet still achieved significant victories – is remarkable. Through sheer will-power the CPV (together with the North Korean Forces) inflicted endless defeats and reversals upon the US (and UN) Forces.
In September, General Secretary Kim came to China to attend the commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War and the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries held another successful meeting and reached a series of important consensus, charting the course for the development of bilateral relations, he said.
The Chinese premier pointed out that China stands ready to work with the DPRK to follow through on the important consensus reached by the two top leaders, strengthen strategic communication, maintain close exchanges and push for friendly cooperation between the two countries, so as to make greater contributions to regional and world peace, stability and prosperity.
The U.S. imperialists, who ignited the Korean war and run amuck to swallow the DPRK in a short time, mobilized all the distinguished U.S. military generals when they suffered defeat after defeat from the beginning of the war.
In order to set back the unfavourable situation of war, the U.S. imperialists threw the U.S. 24th Infantry Division called the “undefeated division” into the war.
Divisional Commander Dean, who boasted of his rich war experience and asserted that he did not know defeat, was doomed to ruin in the Korean war.
Even the illiterate can understand the posters providing they are not visually-impaired. If the workers are visually-impaired – then fully-sighted comrades can describe the posters to them. On top of this, each poster will detail a specific aspect of a new Socialist society – with words and sentences adding to the depth and texture of the State transmission. Posters are a simple, inexpensive, and very powerful way of communicating between the Communist Party and the masses. A few years ago, I was told that there would be a display of North Korean propaganda posters in nearby Croydon on a Saturday afternoon. As this was only for a few hours on a single day, we could not attend due to work – not being able to get time off, etc. Still, with a direct line to North Korean news, I can see developments early every single day! I particularly appreciate the hammer, sickle, and the scholar’s brush (pen)!
