This reflected a remarkable situation. A Confederate Army was riding rampant through the Pennsylvanian countryside – the State within which Washington DC is situated – and yet “no one” amongst the young, elderly, disabled or wounded men (considered medically “unfit” to join the Regular Army due to ill-health or age) were prepared to defend the Union. Within the city of Philadelphia, 8,000 men of the already existing “Philadelphia Greys” bravely volunteered to march to the front in defence of the Union. Due to the general lack of volunteers from the ordinary population – the city of New York sent 12,000 of its own existing Militiamen to supplement the regular Union Army. How brave these men were! Militiamen are often called “Sunday Soldiers” – as they are working men, fathers and patriarchs who live in society, work and look after their families. They come together once a week, once a month, or just a few times a year to compare notes, fire their weapons, and discuss homestead self-defence. They are not frontline soldiers. Of course, Confederate citizens showed the same extent of bravery when the time came.

The site was discovered at 85 Gracechurch Street, an office building that’s about to be demolished and redeveloped.

Earlier archaeological investigations revealed the ancient basilica’s approximate location, so the team created several small test pits to see what was hidden beneath the concrete floor.

On the third attempt, digging between the filing cabinets, they struck lucky.

“You can see a huge chunk of Roman masonry, and it’s incredible that it survives this well. We’re absolutely thrilled that there’s so much of it here,” said Sophie Jackson.

The Union Army paid the farmer $1 per dead Confederate body and the farmer made $60 out of the deal. He dug a new well in a different place for the cost of $2 – making a wartime profit of $58. No one knows the names of these Confederate soldiers – and if it was not for a report being made by the Union soldiers concerned – no one would know about these men today. Of course, there was great bravery on both sides – but the spin placed on the war by the winners has skewed how the Confederacy is viewed today. These Confederate men (and boys) advanced into the Union fire with the utmost discipline and determination. They believed 100% in their cause – which was for the freedom of their individual countries (termed “States”). At the time, this war was not only about slavery – but has been made ONLY about slavery since 1865. Many believed the federalisation of the United States was a betrayal of the 1776 War of Independence – and nothing short of a great evil!

These military movements aim to strengthen American hegemony in the region at the expense of the peoples of the Arab region and their aspirations for freedom, independence and separation from imperialist control. If the agreement is implemented, our Palestinian people will find themselves facing a new entitlement in the West Bank, where they will have to defend their existence and rights against the policies of the occupation and the fascist, murderous settler gangs. The large and violent attack on Palestinian villages by these murderers is the greatest evidence of the upcoming challenges. The Palestinian masses in Gaza and the West Bank will remain in a permanent confrontation with the occupation to preserve their dignity and survival, which requires a unified Palestinian position against any form of normalization with the Zionist occupation and confronting its plans and attacks.

UK Charity Regulator – “Unlawful” for British Charities – to Fund-Raise for Israeli Soldiers! (10.1.2025)

On Thursday, the Charity Commission issued a warning against Chabad Lubavitch Centres North East London and Essex Limited after the charity received 180 complaints for raising money for a soldier fighting for the Israeli army in northern Israel.

In October 2023, Chabad Lubavitch Centres North East London and Essex Limited set up a fundraising page for a soldier stationed in northern Israel.

The page, which was eventually removed in January 2024, raised approximately £2.280. From that amount, Chabad sent £937 to an individual soldier.

The trustees were unable to account for how those funds were spent. But the charity told the Charity Commission that the remaining funds were spent on non-lethal military equipment purchased by the trustees and sent to the same soldier in Israel.

The betrayal of Syria by Russia and Iran has provided such a self-serving moment for the traitors that direct the LBC. ##i believe they are secretly rejoicing regarding the invasion of Syria by the Zionist entity – not to mention ISIS (HTS) murdering and raping their way to Damascus. Whilst unfairly criticising President Assad – the brutality of the Zionists and ISIS – both controlled by the US – is played-down and trivialised. Everything is about how “bad” Assad was supposed to be – whilst there is a crushing “silence” as to the reality of Zionist-fascism and Islamo-fascism! It is a weakness of the contemporary Communist movement that idiots such as these can still self-proclaim themselves leaders of the masses – when they are corrupt from top to bottom.
