According to Liu Chunwang, a quantum control engineer at China Telecom Quantum Group, photonic quantum computing can operate at room temperature, a key advantage over superconducting systems, which require extreme cold.

It also offers longer coherence times, has lower noise and operating costs, and can directly interface with existing fibre-optic and quantum communication networks, Liu said.

Coherence time is the duration over which a qubit, the fundamental unit of information in quantum computing, retains its quantum properties, and noise refers to various factors that can affect the accuracy of calculations.

China Telecom Quantum Group said that the system can control 2,682 photons, a key metric of its computational capability. In a benchmark test of quantum computing performance, the device completed a high-complexity computation in just 29 microseconds — a task far beyond the reach of classical supercomputers, which would take an estimated 16 billion years to complete.

Whatever the case, my body has now adapted to its environment and I habitually wrap a blanket around me – like robe.

Hedgehog Eating & Drinking!

Sutton: Hedgehog Asks for Water During Heat-Wave! (14.7.2025)

When I lived in Devon during my youth – hedgehogs used to be everywhere. We used to see them all the time and most gardens possessed at least one resident hedgehog. I know some lived very long and grew to surprising sizes. The last time I saw a hedgehog in Sutton was probably around 2008 in the back garden of the then house (in Westfield Road) I lived-in – but I have not seen one in the wild since then. The only time we have seen hedgehogs locally – has been in special areas of nature conservation but in a sense – these are not truly wild in the unmanaged sense. I am not sure why we do not see so many wild hedgehog in the Sutton area – perhaps their populations are low – or they choose to hide for some reason. We hope their numbers improve and remember to give them water and cat-food – or similar!

I have checked with my scientific colleagues (who cannot be named due to the threat of cancel culture) who state that this is sheer child-like lunacy. A small barrier cannot block-out sun-rays to any noticeable or significant extent. Still, do not take my word for it, do your own research. Of course, you will initially get caught in the affirming processes (like telling you religion is literally “true”) – but this is like being diverted with the glitz of capitalist wealth – dig a little deeper and the disgusting under-belly will be become apparent. I am lucky as I am in a position to expose bourgeois corruption – but you must protect yourself from any establishment backlash. This is the price of free-thought – which must be charished.
