The country also reported seven new COVID-19 cases, with the daily test positivity rate jumping to 3.87 percent in the 24 hours till 8:00 a.m. local time Saturday. Official data showed that 174 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

Amid a fresh rise in COVID-19 infections in several neighbouring countries, the Bangladeshi interim government has asked people to refrain from traveling to those destinations unless absolutely necessary.

The authorities here have also instructed relevant departments to enhance health screening and surveillance measures at all ports to contain the spread of the infection.

Huiai Farm covers an area of approximately 80 mu (about 5.33 hectares) and was jointly initiated and built by 8 families, whose children were diagnosed with autism or intellectual disabilities. Huiai Farm considers farm work as a means for children to get closer to nature and encourages families to bring their children here to participate in farm work together with children with autism or intellectual disabilities, enhancing the social interaction skills of them in a real community environment.

It is only the DPRK where the elderly, orphans and disabled people, who are called delicate strata of society, are living without any worries under the care of the state, and many flood victims who have lost their homes come to the capital city to receive special treatment.

China: National Disability Day – Lawyers Association Teams-Up to Aid Disability Support Communities! (20.5.2024)

According to the agreement, the two associations will establish a system for offering voluntary services in areas such as legal consultation, advocacy, resolving legal issues and disputes, and developing legal policies.

The agreement also promotes and supports the involvement of local bar associations, law firms and individual lawyers in volunteer activities for people with disabilities. This participation may involve providing legal services, engaging in advocacy efforts and offering various forms of support, the associations noted.

Their ultimate aim is to unite and mobilize a substantial number of lawyers to actively engage in this cause, they added.

Disabled Children Treated with Compassion!

Across China: Rehabilitation Assistance Brightens Future of Disabled Children! (21.1.2024)

Many Chinese families have benefited from the National Assistance System for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Children since its establishment in 2018. In Gansu, designated Rehabilitation Institutions for Disabled Children have increased from 30 to 205 over the past years.

The Provincial Government also invests over 43 million Yuan annually to support the Rehabilitation Institutions, and that figure is expected to increase to 63 million Yuan in 2024. Some cities and counties further adopt diverse development models, including Public-Private Partnerships, to include more Disabled Children aged between 6 and 17 in the Rehabilitation Assistance System.

With the efforts of Hongmeng Disabled Persons’ Service Centre, over 20 children have returned to Primary School, more than 30 have integrated into regular schools, and over 10 gained employment in restaurants after turning 18.
