Hong Kong: Leader Promotes “Certainties” Following 28th Hand-Over Anniversary! (5.11.2025)

In a social media post, Chief Secretary for Administration Chan Kwok-ki attributed Hong Kong’s ability to overcome difficulties during the interval to the enduring vitality of “one country, two systems”, as well as the central government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability.

Political parties, including the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong — the city’s biggest political party — reaffirmed their support for deeper integration into national development and seizing new opportunities under “one country, two systems”.

Sunny Tan, chairman of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, pledged to leverage Hong Kong’s global connectivity to strengthen industry ties through international fashion events, strengthen the city’s brand and support internationalization efforts.

CSA Flyer Calling for Naval Volunteers!

CSA: Confederate Navy – Black & Foreign Workers! (15.10.2025)

The CSA Navy was primarily tasked with defending the waterways leading from the coastal areas (and the open sea) into the Southern hinterland from attack by the Union. The secondary mission was to venture out into the coastal areas and the open sea to attack any approaching Union ship. The problem with this latter requirement is that once CSA ships were drawn away from the protection of CSA estuary and coastal batteries – the Confederate ships were often sitting ducks. This being the case, and given that stocks of new iron were low, the secondary objective was only rarely exercised. Of course, Confederate submarines did do some surprising damage to Union shipping – but this technology was still new, quite often unreliable, and usually deadly to its own crew. Despite being side-lined in favour of the CSA Army – the CSA Navy (and those who administered it) did an extraordinarily good job against incredible odds. African-Americans, both free and still in slavery, assisted the CSA in its naval requirements.

Quite Literally "A Star in Her Own Mind!"

Reform UK – Instant Noodle Politics & Comedy Fascism! (7.9.2025)

Many on the right and far-right detest Farage as a traitor and betrayer of the cause – but I doubt many know his plans to switch back-on this pathway of highly dubious legal immigration. Let’s face it, any policy the government decrees to be acceptable – becomes legal. The hypocrisy of Farage – that great friend of the betrayer of the left George Galloway – is only a drop in the ocean of the problems the UK has got. If you have access to a TV, computer screen, and/or a streaming service, you can regale yourself with the utter mess the UK has become via the (unintentionally) hilarious footage covering the Conference of Reform UK. This looks like a cross between X Factor, Stars in Their Eyes, and Blind Date. If you happen to have lived through any of these Crimes Against Humanity – you will probably “whince” as a form of Pavlovian conditioning.

The above are two recent email responses I wrote following a respectful and lucid request for knowledge and instruction. Daoism is very misunderstood both within and outside of China – but ironically this a cross we have to bear. Daoism has nothing to do with money. Indeed, the fabled “pay wall” is a contradiction to the very essence of authentic Daoist teaching. The basic rule should be that if a Daoist “teacher” demands money before they instruct you – they possess nothing worth instructing you in. You might be conditioned to feel good when purchasing something – but Daoist wisdom feels good because there is no greed involved in any of its structure, formulation, or transmission.

Priest House - Easton-on-the-Hill - Family

Easton-on-the-Hill: Priest House [Chantry] 15th Century! (28.7.2025)

Although we have visited the general area a number of time – we had never seen this exhibit or been told about it. As we are currently staying in the locale – this place came-up in an internet search about something else. Like many such attractions, even at the height of Summer, there is only ever a trickle of visitors – which is a good thing for all concerned. We were handed the key, instructed to be careful on the old spiralling stone staircase, and turn-off all the lights when we are finished. There is even a toilet on site that is accessed with a key. Everything was perfectly clean, tidy, and in good order. Our two-daughters watched a short video film about the area, its history and industry! The photographs will tell the story of what we saw. A truly magnificent historical site that emerged out of the single most important and Revolutionary event (the “Dissolution of the Monasteries”) that forged modern Britain and the world!
