Lao PDR - Day of Disability!

Laos: Buddhist-Socialist Republic Cares for Disabled People – December 3rd – “International Day for Persons with Disabilities”! (4.12.2024)

This is just one of many paths to progress. Around the world, persons with disabilities are leading the way in identifying innovative solutions that break down barriers and create a more accessible world. That advances equality for everyone.

On this International Day for Persons with Disabilities, let us join forces in making it easier for persons with disabilities to share their experiences and knowledge and to influence decisions that impact their lives.

Let us work together to build societies that are more inclusive – to the benefit of persons with disabilities and the benefit of us all.

Abbot's Kitched - Glastonbury - 2024

Glastonbury Abbey: Abbot’s Kitchen – St Joseph’s Well! (30.7.2024)

Today, an ad hoc “Wishing Well” has developed in one of the corners of the room. This was probably a drain or perhaps some type of cooker – but in modern times visitors have taken to dropping coins down through the covering grill – and making heartfelt requests in the form of prayers and good wishes. Our daughters asked for good health to be bestowed upon Nana (Diane Wyles), Granddad (Peter Wyles) and Charlotte (my younger sister)! The currency observed spans the globe – which demonstrates the universal appeal that Glastonbury holds. This is not necessarily “religious” (although religion is important for many) – but rathe “spiritual” in nature – the latter category being far more inclusive and all-embracing!

William Shakespeare & Francis Bacon

Shakespeare: Mark Twain Was On the Scent! (12.3.2024)

Only then did the newly franchised Bourgeoisie begin to routinely mimic the upper-class they had politically replaced as controllers of the means of production – following the 1649 CE execution of King Charles I – and extensively educate their children in literacy (and all kinds of other academic subjects). After 1649 CE – this type of Bourgeois education slowly began to develop – but certainly did not happen to any great extent prior to this date. In this regard, Shakespeare seems historically out-of-place – like a technologically sophisticated and advanced artefact discovered on the floor of an ancient cave – how did such an object arrive in this position?

Tree of Enlightenment - Buddha Disappeared!

Perceptual Experiment: “Portrait of God” [Short Film]! (6.1.2024)

When the Buddha attained ‘Enlightenment’, the habitual karmic-power that continuously pulled together his physical and psychological existence fell away – leaving only the residual karmic-power of his present (final) bodily existence. Although the Buddha had broken the ridge-pole of continuous delusional habit – the physical body he occupied whilst attaining this position still had to be ‘lived through’ – until its biological functions naturally expired and its cohesive structure fell away. All of the material universe exists within empty space. Buddhist ‘Enlightenment’ seems to suggest a subjective appreciation of this external space and understands that all material expression exists within a continuous state of flux. As the Buddha broke-free of the human attachment to physical existence – his achievement was originally portrayed by his followers as ‘being not there’.

Going to the Bookshop with Liz… (2.12.2022)

On occasion, (despite everything going on around me), a vivid dream bubbles-up into the ‘conscious-sphere’, which often involves historical events and people I have known – usually replicating (or constructing) events very similar to (or identical with) real events that actually happened (such as our visits to the now long closed ‘Borders’ Bookstore in neaeby Kingston-Upon-Thames – ususually during Sunday lunchtimes following demanding gongfu training sessions in the morning)! Recently, wilst dealing with 101 other things – and not having seen Liz for years now (life goes on) – the following ‘vivid’ dream traversed across the surface of my mind – and I thought it meaningful enough to record in writing!
