New DPRK Posters!

DPRK: New Educational Posters! (1.7.2025)

Even the illiterate can understand the posters providing they are not visually-impaired. If the workers are visually-impaired – then fully-sighted comrades can describe the posters to them. On top of this, each poster will detail a specific aspect of a new Socialist society – with words and sentences adding to the depth and texture of the State transmission. Posters are a simple, inexpensive, and very powerful way of communicating between the Communist Party and the masses. A few years ago, I was told that there would be a display of North Korean propaganda posters in nearby Croydon on a Saturday afternoon. As this was only for a few hours on a single day, we could not attend due to work – not being able to get time off, etc. Still, with a direct line to North Korean news, I can see developments early every single day! I particularly appreciate the hammer, sickle, and the scholar’s brush (pen)!

Memorial Stone for the Crew of the CSS HL Hunley!

CSA: Remembering the CSS HL Hunley – Confederate Submarine Recovered in 2000! (8.4.2025)

These were the last Confederate soldiers to be laid to rest in the US. They were buried in 2004 in Charleston – with over ten thousand people attending – many carrying Confederate flags. The official US government stance was one of indifference and perhaps embarrassment (the US was busy illegally invading Iraq and Afghanistan – falsely blaming both countries for the September 11th World Trade Centre Attacks). One of the submarine crew – “C Lumpkin” – was British (images of what the crew looked like have been created), whilst two others (of the eight-man crew) were also non-American (“Corporal Johan Frederik Carlsen” was Danish – whilst “Arnold Becker” was Germany). In other words, three of the eight were foreign – and I know that people came from Ireland (which was then under British control) and from Mainland Britain to join the Confederate Cause.

China: Electric AS700 “Airship” Makes Successful Debut Flight! (22.2.2025)

Domestically made airship AS700 will take off in later half of 2021, said Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) Special Vehicle Research Institute on Wednesday. The airship can hold maximum of nine passengers to meet the requirement of low-altitude tourism market, according to media report.

To meet the requirement of China’s and international requirement of low altitude tourism, the maximum range and flight time of AS700 airship can reach 700 kilometres and travel uninterrupted for 10 hours. Single line seats and wide-opened windows provide maximum of 9 passengers with a unique viewing experience.

Zhang Jinhua, senior designer of AVIC Special Vehicle Research Institute said the development and research of AS700 airship started from 2018. “With the development of tourism industry, modern airship is able to provide sightseeing, cargo and passenger transmission business basing on its economical and safe features,” said Zhang.

Huang Xuhua, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, recipient of the Medal of the Republic, and chief designer of China’s first-generation nuclear submarines, passed away at the age of 99 on Thursday in Wuhan, Central China’s Hubei Province.

Known as the “father of China’s nuclear submarines,” Huang had dedicated his whole life to the development and advancement of China’s nuclear submarine programme.

DPRK: Inauguration Ceremony of Regional-industry Factories in Jaeryong County Held! (18.1.2025)

He repeatedly stressed the need for the Party and government organs in cities and counties to always pay close attention to providing conditions necessary for normalizing production at the regional-industry factories, including providing raw materials and training skilled workers, and unconditionally ensure the provision of the conditions so that the new regional development policy of our Party can make a substantial contribution to promoting the material well-being of the inhabitants in the relevant regions.

He affirmed that he would make this year a year of another upsurge in regional construction by setting a higher standard as a goal on the basis of last year’s successes and ensuring the economic profitability, effectiveness and prospectiveness to the maximum.

The inauguration ceremony of the regional-industry factories in Jaeryong County held in the presence of Kim Jong Un served as a significant occasion, which instilled confidence in sure victory and optimism into the people across the country, who have turned out as one in the drive to open up a new avenue for prosperity according to the viewpoint on development and in the spirit of creation of the Korean style and greet the Ninth Congress of the Party as a glorious congress of victors.

Southern Men Arise!

How Great Britain Assisted the Formation of the Confederate Post Office [1861-1863]! (8.1.2025)

The internationally-known London, England printing firm of “Thomas De La Rue & Co.”, prepared plates and stamps for the CSA until a Southern firm was found to take over the work. That firm, Archer & Daly, began producing stamps in 1863. The US blockade of as many Confederate ports as possible often meant that British ships carrying supplies from London, the UK, or the British Empire to the Confederacy – were often intercepted via acts of piracy on the high seas by the US Navy – with the goods confiscated and/or destroyed. The US government was continuously irritated by the continuous (undeclared) British support for the Confederacy – which for at least two-years extended into the realms of Post Office support! Of course, many of the best weapons the Confederate Army possessed were supplied by the UK. The Postmaster General of the Confederate Post Office Department (POD) – John Reagan (whilst traveling with President Jefferson Davis) – was arrested on the 8th May 1865, and imprisoned at Fort Warren in Boston Harbor. Reagan was pardoned and released from prison almost two years later. Jefferson Davis “refused” a Pardon (on the grounds that he had done nothing wrong) – and was subsequently released anyway.
