HMS Blessing of Burntisland Sank 1633

UK: King Charles I – 1633 Wreck of Royal Ferry [Blessing of Burntisland] – Located on Sea-Bed! (21.8.2026)

A community heritage group believes it has located the wreck of the Blessing of Burntisland, a timber ferry that sank in Scotland nearly four centuries ago while carrying royal baggage and treasure across the Firth of Forth.

Burntisland Heritage Trust said that underwater surveys, physical exploration and the recovery of timber had identified a possible wreck-site about 1.5km from the Fife town of Burntisland, describing the evidence as “promising”.

The Blessing foundered in unexpectedly rough weather in July 1633, while sailing from Burntisland to Leith during the Stuart King Charles I’s Scottish coronation tour. Only two of the 35 passengers and crew onboard are believed to have survived.

The ferry was reportedly transporting royal possessions valued at about £100,000 at the time, including jewellery, textiles, coins and precious-metal plate.

Brixham: Coins in the Wall! (2.4.2026)

Administrative matters aside – I notice the above “interior” wall looks as if it used to be an “external” wall – as it looks weather-beaten and worn. Furthermore, in the UK, builders often leave a coin featuring the year any renovations were carried-out as a form of “good luck”. Usually, we find these coins under floor-boards, carpets, and lino, etc. Sometimes they are lodged between wooden joints or under various structures. In this wall, the coins seem cemented on the outside of the wall. There is a 1966 half-penny, and a 1960 three-penny. When I was first at school in the early 1970s – these coins were still in use. The old half-penny would today possess the buying power of £5 – whilst the three-penny bit could buy about £30s worth of goods. This was before the UK joined the EEC (1.1.1973). Prior to this, a British pound was comprised of 240 pence – afterwards it was deliberately devalued to just “100” pence. What a disgrace all this was!

Year of the Green [Wood] Dragon Has Arrived! (10.2.2024)

It is time for Cards, red envelopes, coins, incense and banging the gong! The head of the household (me) – walks around the house banging a small gong over three-laps! The news is said to drive-out the old (stale) ‘Qi’ (Virtuous Energy) and welcome-in the ‘new’ energy – which in this year takes the form of a ‘green’ (wood) Dragon! As the Dragon is elusive, and given that I am embodying its Spirit at this precise moment – I do not appear in the photographs – and yet I am ‘everywhere’ throughout this ancient procedure!

Gee: “1993” School Project Regarding “Hong Kong” – Coins & Stamps! (23.11.2023)

Therefore, we reject Bourgeois notions of ‘nationalism’ – whilst recognising the ‘International’ identity of the Working-Class! It is a resounding irony that whilst Gee delivers hundreds of babies within the British NHS – many of the parents of those babies actively work to have Gee expelled from the UK premised entirely on her bodily differences – whilst simultaneously welcoming in to the UK thousands of Chinese ‘criminals’ who recently participated in the US-derived riots in Hong Kong! These are just some of the dialectical paradoxes that we live within.
