Representatives of the (UK owned) Donald Steamship Company managed to ‘retrieve their property’ around April 19th, 1912 and spirited them away! Ironically, the US government ‘relaxed’ ALL Immigration red tape for arriving non-Americans out of sympathy for their plight – providing they were ‘White’!

To this end, Donald Steamship Company bought these Chinese people a third-class group ticket – numbered 1601 – price £56, 9 shillings and 11 pence. The ‘Chinese’ names registered on this collective ticket are written in phonetic English and read:

1) Fang Lang

2) Choong Foo

3) Ali Lam

4) Ling Hee

5) Chang Chip

6) Lee Bing

7) Lee Ling

8) Len Lam

Amongst them the youngest was 24 years old whilst the oldest was 37 years old. As dispatch workers (who were sent anywhere at anytime with no Union support or protection) – these Chinese men were made to work more than 12 hours a day in terrible conditions – whilst receiving only one-fifth the pay of that earned by White (Umionised) workers doing exactly the same job!

BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) — Xi Jinping was elected general secretary of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) at the committee’s first plenary session held on Sunday, according to a communique.

The session, presided over by Xi, was attended by 203 members of the 20th CPC Central Committee and 168 alternate members.

Xi was also named chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission at the session.

The members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee elected at the session are Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang and Li Xi.

Also elected were members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee at the session, which endorsed the members of the CPC Central Committee Secretariat nominated by the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

Determined to tackle deep-seated land and housing issues, Lee called for building 30,000 new public housing units, increasing the city’s public housing supply by about 50 percent in the next five years.

The government will also shorten the waiting time for public housing from six to 4.5 years, and cut the time for turning “primitive land “into “spade-ready sites” by one-third to half, Lee said.

His policy address also announced measures to stimulate the local economy, propel science and technological advancement, drive cultural and art development and better promote Hong Kong’s advantages to the international community.

The Central Committee of the China Zhi Gong Dang said that faced with changes unseen in a century, the CPC Central Committee has united and led people of all ethnic groups in the country to win the battle against poverty and build a moderately prosperous society in all respects.

The Central Committee of Jiu San Society said that since the 18th CPC National Congress, the CPC Central Committee has adopted a series of strategic measures, pushed forward a series of transformative practices, realized a series of breakthroughs and achieved a series of marked achievements.

The Central Committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League said the success of the congress will certainly promote the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics and give impetus to the process of national reunification and national rejuvenation.
