The story of the tomb of St. Francis, hidden for centuries beneath the main altar, lends an almost mystical undertone to this new era. After his death in 1226, the body was carefully hidden to avoid theft or desecration. It was only discovered in 1818, after a long search, and since then, several verifications have been carried out — most recently in 2015 –, which confirmed the authenticity and good state of preservation of the relics. Those bones, marked by the suffering and wounds of the Crucified One, are the physical echo of a life spent for love. The Basilica of St. Francis will become, during that month, the spiritual heart of the world. A massive influx of pilgrims from all Continents is expected. To guarantee a serene and prayerful experience, a free and mandatory reservation system has been established through the website http://www.sanfrancescovive.org, which is available in several languages.

As compassion and loving kindness grows and is magnified through the more people it is shared with – these statements act as “ripples” of positive energy emanating that traverse through the portals of the past, present, and future – excluding none and embracing all! Of course, the Buddha defined the human mind as being that capacity which can perceive the present, recall the past, and plan for the future. This is a remarkable observation. What the Ch’an School offers, infused as it is with the thinking associated with Confucianism – and the far older “Book of Change” – is that the mind should a) be “stilled” (realising a relative emptiness), b) a product of purifying all vestiges of greed, hatred, and delusion, and c) and in so-doing experiencing the expansion of this “emptiness” realisation into an “all-embracing” reality.

For Aditya Prakash and Urmi Bhattacharyya, both PhD scholars at the University of Colorado Boulder, the smell of Indian food became the flashpoint for what they say was systemic discrimination against international students — a fight they ultimately won, though at a personal cost.

During the murder of Charlie Hebdo staff for printing a racist cartoon featuring an Arab (which criticised Islam) – the CPB and the Moring Star “ignored” the racist motivation and racist nature of the cartoon (associating freedom of expression with the right to be racist) – and openly supported the Charlie Hebdo business (re-publishing the offending cartoon). This policy replaced the more correct position of condemning the terrorist murders – whilst simultaneously condemning the French racism that triggered this violent response. This is an interesting departure for the Morning Star which in other circumstances has seen its full support for Islamic violence – providing it is aimed at Buddhist minorities. The Morning Star’s position was echoed in the Communist Review – a copy of which I encountered during a visit to the Marx Memorial Library in London. This is an example of the disgusting racism that exists and manifests on the far-left in the UK.

Not quite the Arctic Tundra – but nevertheless -3 – and abit parky (brass monkeys) as we say in England. There has been a slight scattering of snow in the South – but up North it has been quite bad. There is talk of more snow in London – but talk is cheap! I went running with a 56 lbs pack today – wearing my old sturdy boots – and had tp tread carefully between the fluffy and charming snow and the nasty (hidden) black-ice. I do not fancy taking a tumble at 58-years old. Mind you – I find the cold air bracing and invigorating. Also, I wanted to set an example for Mei-An – my oldest daughter – who had to walk through the ice to school today, the first day back at school in our area.

Ryukyu: 1629 Ming Dynasty Edict Proves Okinawa Part of China! (17.12.2025)

The Okinawan King had instigated Chinese language as the official means of communication, Chinese Confucianism as State-creed, Chinese Buddhism as a spiritual practice, and Chinese Daoism as a health system. Okinawa militarily aligned itself with China’s policies and the Okinawan people practiced Chinese martial arts via the instruction of visiting Masters. Meanwhile, Okinawans were encouraged to visit Fujian province and learn the Chinese culture on offer – including martial arts (the origin of Goju Ryu Karate-Do). The Japanese invaded Okinawa in 1629 – but could only establish a limited Embassy. In 1879, the Imperial Japanese Empire invaded Okinawa and forcibly expelled any and all Chinese individuals and influences. Following a horrific experience during WWII – Japan today views the Okinawans as being both “sub-human” and “non-Japanese” – this is why US Military Bases are stationed on Okinawa (US soldiers often rape Okinawan school girls – and it is treated as a joke in Japan and the US). Okinawa should return to China.
